Update in comments! 2 year old refusing naps
I need help! My two year old is a nightmare to put down for a nap. The issue is, she NEEDS her nap or she's a nightmare the rest of the day. I also have a newborn (will be 3 weeks old tomorrow), so I NEED the two year old to nap for my sanity! I get no sleep at night... and no break during the day. I'm going to rip my hair out.
So last night was terrible! She didn't go to bed until almost 11 (we put her down at 9). Then she was up again and played in her room from 3-4:30am. :-/
Today, I didn't turn on the TV once. I'm not a big TV person anyway but near the end of my pregnancy (being on bed rest) and now with being a zombie from having a newborn, I've been more lax and let her watch more TV during the day. I realized she wasn't being stimulated enough. So all we did today was play, paint, sing songs, etc. When it was time for nap, I told her when she woke up we could make a special craft and I'd let her watch Bubble Guppies. She went right to sleep!
I'll be keeping this up! Hopefully it continues to work! :-)
My son HAD to have quiet time. The nap word was an instant no go after two. But we had quiet time until he was 5. Even now I can sense it and say it's quiet time and he is 7. He doesn't have to sleep. He can be in his room reading or he can watch a movie. Sometimes I tell him it's quiet time until the movie is over and put on a longer one. Then I nap on the couch. It worked with me. Quiet time meant laying down so he couldn't get up an play with toys.
I make her help me clean her room, it just looks like a bomb went off in there after 'nap time'.
She did finally go to sleep today! After an hour of me trying!
My two year old doesn't always nap, but she does great with a quiet time every afternoon. I'll put on a slower paced movie for her and let her snuggle on the couch with a pillow and a cup of milk. An hour or two later, she's refreshed!
Also, she's old enough to pick up her toys! Both my girls pick up their rooms every night before bed, and my youngest is only 15 months! Of course, they need supervision to stay on track and keep motivated, but I sit on the bed and point to where everything goes, and make a huge deal that they're being helpful. They think it's fun, and it saves my life, especially when dd2 was an infant. No reason to wear yourself out cleaning up something she could get herself!
She loves her stuffed animals and books and she had managed to obtain quite a collection over the past two years. Now everything is sitting in my hallway! Haha!
I always offer incentives like going to the park, or playing some special game. She gets really excited but as soon as I close the door, she's up and playing.
She's in a toddler bed because she started climbing out of her crib at 15 months. She also climbs the furniture so leaving her in there for "quiet time" in lieu of a nap doesn't work either. :-(
Is she in a toddler bed? Are there too many things and toys in the room? My toddler is still in a crib. The only thing that helps him fall asleep is the iPad. I understand some people are against children having electronics but that's what works for us. He plays on his educational apps and falls asleep peacefully.
Question: 16 year old dating an q8 year old? Thoughts??
My opinion is hell no. 16 year old is still a kid. Kids now a days want to be grown so bad and be in adult relationships and situations. I know when my daughters are 16 and they tell me they are dating an 18 year old. I will surely flip my lid.

Not hating, but idc if i was a millionaire i would not but my 3 year old in a 950 anything 🤣😂

I need to find a lock for my refrigerator I’m tired of my 3 year old going in there messing with stuff 😑 with his lil sneaky self
She does sometimes sassy, but then she always wakes up when I try to move her into the house.
Sooooooo she woke up when I was in the shower. When I went in her room to get her about 10 minutes later, she had taken out all of the baby clothes from the dresser and thrown them all over the room. Ugh!! It took me more than half n hour to fold everything and put it back. :-/
