How many stitches??
I tore during birth and my doctor didn't tell me how many stitches I got. I asked him when he was down there sewing and he brushed it off and changed the subject.

I think mine was a continuous stitch. He had a needle on the end of the string and was just sewing away. Yikes!!!

I don't know how many stitches but I had internal tearing and 3rd degree external. Took a long time to get sewn up and the doc almost took my to the OR to do it! 7weeks pp and still not totally healed ?

This makes my vagina hurt..

It's pretty normal for it to hurt for a while. It's not just the stitches, the bruising/swelling will be hurting too. I tore naturally with my first - second degree tear and 10 stitches. I had a third degree episiotomy and too many stitches to count with my second (forceps rotation and delivery). My first hurt for about 4 weeks and my second for months.

Lol! Yes, I had to look! It looks the same really, just a little swollen and a bit more "open". Hahaha!

Ps you're brave to look.. Lol.. I never looked down there.. Until I was properly healed lol

Never found out how many stitches I got.. The 2 times I delivered vaginally... But yes it hurts... For a good while... Do you get squirt bottles there.. From your hospital? We do here, and filling it with warm water and squirting your self with it while you pee.. Makes peeing much easier to bear... Also sitting in espom salt and water helps a lot too... Hope you feel better soon :)

I had a 4th degree tear and had 45 mins of stitching :/

Lol, mine would have been too many to count, took her over 30 mins to sew me up and it was a long continual stitch...I had a 4th degree vertical tear and a really bad internal horizontal tear, took a while to heal, I had granated scar tissue which had to be burnt off with silver nitrate every couple months until 6 months pp when it finally healed

I had 4th degree lacerations. I'm so afraid it will happen again since I've already got scars.

I had "the equivalent to" 34 stitches :) the doctor shoved his hand up there after my side head popped out (2011) and that caused me to tear big time. Hoping to avoid it this go around!

I'm with me o mouse. I had 50. Had third or fourth degree tears. Tore from
From to back and deep into the muscle even after an episiotomy. Terrified to deliver vaginally again!!!

50!! Holy cow!! OMG, your poor vagina!

Doctor said he stopped counting at 50

I had an old school doctor who actually gave me am episiotomy, which completely sucks compared to small, minor tears. I think he said I had 6-7 stitches?
It took me almost 3 weeks to feel normal. I remember feeling like I'd rather be going through labor again then feel that pain--that's how bad it was.

I do have the bottle, which does help a lot. I also keep using the burn spray (can't remember the name) and I have been putting the tucks on my pads. It all helps, I just can't wait until I'm all healed up!

I had one small tear. My baby was born this past Wednesday, and I still have burning when I pee.

I had three natural tears they weren't terrible I had 4 stitches, but I was sore for a while. I quit bleeding at around 1 week but I was still swollen and uncomfortable until 17 days pp. I think it's normal

I never asked how many I got. It's been 8 yrs for me, but I do remember it taking a long while to completely heal. They were dissolvable and for months afterward if I'd sit down a certain way I'd still feel poking down there. It did eventually go away.

I'm not really sure since he didn't tell me. I think he didn't want to frighten me! Haha! He just said "you tore a little so I have to put in some stitches". I can't see them when I look down there, would that mean they are internal?
