Congrats!!! I want to do a vba2c but my doctor isn't letting me. I'm really upset about it. They said the only way I would be allowed to is if I get to the hospital and dilated to an 8 or 10. I want to experience it but I don't think I'm going to get the opportunity. So happy for you!!!

Birth story:

I was sent to the hospital yesterday at 37w 5d because of high blood pressure. After an hour of monitoring, they decided I needed to have the baby so they inserted the foley balloon at 5pm to start dilation. They took it out this morning at 8am and I was at 4 cm dilated. They then started me on a tiny bit of pitocin (a level 1) but literally, 5 seconds after they inserted the IV, my water broke. They only left the pit on for 30 minutes because baby wasn't tolerating it and since my water broke, they thought nature would just take it's course.

For the next few hours, things were awful! Her heart rate was seriously dropping every time I had contractions and they were huge dips. They came in and said I needed a c-section so I got the epidural to prep for surgery, but then, miraculously, the baby was doing much better! He told me he'd give me 45 more minutes and if things didn't turn around, it was a c-section for sure. MIRACULOUSLY, she started doing great after trying a few different positions and when he came back, I told him things were working and I was feeling serious pressure. He came back 45 minutes later and I was fully dilated and ready to push!

I pushed for less than 20 minutes and she was out! He even let me reach down and pull her body out. She was wrapped up in her cord three different ways which was the reason for her decelerations.

Honestly, the only reason for my success was a SUPER supportive doctor who knew how much VBACing meant to me, sheer willpower and the fact I wouldn't accept that I was going to have a c-section (although, I cried almost all day because I thought it would end up happening), and God. I was praying so hard that he would turn things around and he did! :-)

I know I've posted this before but when your water was leaking did it stay leaking or just with movements or what? Did you get contractions shortly after or no? I rolled out of bed and felt warmth leak out but Idk if it was possibly urine or what...never had it happen. It didn't smell like anything really...I know I should either call l&d or go in but I just want some experiences please. I want to wait a bit just in case it's nothing.
