Birthing Ball Question!
I'll be 37 weeks tomorrow but I've been having a lot of contractions and back pain. Is it ok to sit on my birthing ball to relieve some of the pressure? I don't want to do anything to "self-induce" so I'm nervous.

My first was also born at 37 weeks but he was an emergency c-section.

It's fine! Sitting on a yoga ball just helps open your pelvis so your baby can get into position easier. It's not going to induce you. :)

If you go into labor from sitting on a ball, your baby is more than ready to come out. I used one in the hospital and it seemed to help a lot with contractions.

Oh ok! Thanks! It does help relieve the discomfort. :-)

I just had my son at 37 weeks. He was more than ready considering I only had to push twice n he was out within 2 minutes of having my legs up!

Rocking on my ball was the only way I could get comfortable towards the end. Sitting and rocking your hips, rather than bouncing, helps baby into position. I used to sit on it to watch tv as I found my lounge impossible to get out of.

Good, that makes me feel much better! :-)
