Real life purge?
Did anyone hear about this "real life purge" that's supposed to happen in Louisville this weekend?
Here in CO it's supposed to be happening September 6th in a few cities. My roommate and fiance are heading to his sister's house for the day where it's a quiet small town and they (his sister and brother in law) carry so we've got protection if, God forbid, the need arises. F*cking people these days.
Okay so let me get this straight. Instead of raising people and taking actions on those people that actually DO things like that, we blame the MOVIE. No. People shouldn't behave like that!
As for the kid, he shouldn't get arrested for being stupid. Unfortunately we can't arrest people for stupidity. It's not like he got together a gang and went out purging. He started what? A tweet? Status? Post on tumblr?
It just a normal night in my city, we had 2 shootings with 4 victims, 2 confirmed dead so far, one was a female employee of convenience store shot during an armed robbery. The other shooting was a drive by and the victim died. There was also a fatal accident on the highway by my house involving a big rig transporting wine and pedestrians were trying to steal the wine!
For realz MoneyPit!
I know that making movies falls under the 1st amendment but like I told DH last night, if someone is sick enough to think it up there's someone sick enough to do it & we've just gone too far as a society to be having movies like that be commonplace.
It's sad and it's scary!
I agree, pp! I don't even watch movies like that! I even had to stop watching Criminal Minds because it freaked me out so much!
I guess we'll never know how many of the actual calls were pranks, or how many were people just wanting to scare people.
I know what calls I heard on the scanner though & while the teen that started it admitted to just messing around that certainly doesn't mean that it did/wouldn't propagate sick people from jumping on the wagon.
That blogger posted pics of his area that is usually very busy on a Friday night & it was d.e.a.d. I don't expect to see any real news coverage on even the possibility of the real calls though.
Alls I know is if a prank like that was propagated & someone came banging on my door screaming to let them in I'd probably be in jail for shooting said person through my door. That's just not right to be doing to people.
Holy moly! I go to bed and wake up to 100 comments!
I'm going to ask my friends and see if anything happened over night. They live right in the heart of Louisville.
They haven't arrested the guy who started it as he was only a minor & they dropped the charges, watch the news people don't always go off s*** from the internet & as for deaths there are only 2 homicides which aren't even linked to the "purge" now 419 yeah don't believe everything you see on the internet ??
I haven't seen anything tonight. I even drove to work around 11pm and saw nothing. Of course there has been lots of things reported on the scanners. My SO was listening to the scanner when I left and he said he had heard of home invasions, cars being set on fire, shots being fired...etc. Honestly though nothing severe that I have seen. There have been some really silly reports that have came in to such as a man stole a beer and a pickle and the cops were chasing him. Also a man sexually assaulted a cat.
Yeah well there's been reports of people setting dumpsters and cars on fire, burglaries, people shooting at cars, and groups wearing masks and face paint carrying weapons in louisville. Scary sh*t. I live 20 mins from louisville. I downloaded a police scanner app called 5-0 Radio Police Scanner lite. Click on top 100 scanner feeds
I mean, none of it wold be legal, that's why it isn't really a "purge"... But a bunch of dumb people have been saying they will go on a 12-hour crime spree (like in the movie) and that people need to watch out.
Seriously? So rape, molestation, child porn, ect would be legal too? Well that's f*** ing stupid. I don't know the situation down there, haven't been.paying attention to the news, but if they're doing that to try to teach the country a lesson, they're going about it in the wrong way. There are way to.many lives that could be devastated because of that :/
I'm no where near there. But people in this town would probably be stupid enough to do this. Glad I got guns and plenty of rounds. Come through my door, I dare ya.
But seriously. This movie should have never been able to go on the big screen. It obviously caught the attention of the wrong people.
My childhood best friend lives in Louisville. Maybe I should talk to him, lol.
On the news they were talking about it. They have a purge date too. Aug. 31st. I'm in jacksonville fl. They said they are taking it seriously and that the threat as been posted on social media mostly by teens that are part of a gang. Idk if I believe it will actually happen but i will be staying in my house.. People are crazy
No it's not, sadly innocent people may get hurt because of these people... OR they will end up hurt or dead by either the police or citizens trying to protect themselves. :-/
The thing is, it's not a real life "purge". These idiots will get caught and go to jail for murder. It is a bunch of dumbasses looking to bring more violence to any already terrible situation. Violence doesn't do anything but bring in more pain and hurt. I wish there was a way to solve this peacefully, but I know it isn't going to happen. Policd brutality and racial profiling NEEDS TO STOP, but how we will get there... I am not sure anyone has the answer. People want their voices heard, but this is NOT the way to do it.
Sometimes.. I just hate people. Who would even joke about something like that?
I have some friends there I could text and ask. I think if I lived there, I'd be taking a trip this weekend! ?

I did this in high school 😂 It’s a real life lesson especially when I had to bring the baby with me to school
I wonder if people have the same energy in real life instead of on social media 🧐🤔
I wish I had more friends... real life friends!! 😅

Is this real life??? 😁😁😁😁😁
It's supposed to happen in Oklahoma on the 30th. Good thing I don't live in the city.
