Somebody's in trouble!
It's almost 3am and DH still isn't home!! He won't respond to my texts either so he'll probably be sleeping on the couch for the next month!

That is good, I'm glad you both handle situations maturely. It was a breath of fresh air for me to read this, and how levelheaded you were OP.

Just as the kids and I were about to walk out of the house, he came downstairs dressed and asked if he could come with us to the party. We had fun at the pool party and on the drive, I just explained to him that next time I would appreciate a text or call to let me know if he was going to stay out that late. He apologized, said he understood and it was water under the bridge. :-)

So, I woke up this morning determined to not let my frustration ruin our day, plus I don't want my kids to witness me being angry with him. I woke up and cooked everyone a big breakfast. I sent the kids up to tell him breakfast was ready and he said he'd eat it later. He's still in bed and it's 11:17am. We have to leave at noon to get to the birthday party (it's a 1.5 hour drive). Looks like I'll be going alone, which isn't a huge deal - but it is a pool party so it will be a little difficult keeping an eye on both DD and DS by myself. Such is life, I guess.

LOL! @mommybear, it's because he's grown that I expect these things from him. He's not a teenager, he's an adult with responsibilities - one if which is to be respectful of his wife.

She is not imposing a curfews. He is a married man with a family. You do not ever stay out all night without discussing it first with your wife. Not discussing it calling is disrespectful. Time with the boys doesn't mean sleepover.
Ashley Roan·
It's not a curfew, it's just being considerate. I didn't get mad at him and give him a hard time when he came home. It's just common courtesy to text your wife and say "still out, be home around X". I didn't know if he had fallen asleep, I didn't know if he had tried to wander home and went to the wrong house or something. LOL! He was SO wasted.
Ashley Roan·
He finally got home at 4am. I just asked him if he had fun and didn't say another word. I had the worst night sleep though, through his drunk snoring, my back hurting and some random contractions, I probably got less sleep than him.
Thank God DD slept until 9am! :-)
Ashley Roan·
@belita - it's not that he went out. I honestly am glad he went. I'm more aggravated with the fact that he stayed out so late without even calling or texting me. I think it's disrespectful because if I were in his shoes, I would have let him know what was going on.

I agree with poppet. Make him go lol

No way.... A birthday party with screaming kids is much more torture for a hangover. You leave him there, he will be able to sleep in peace!

I hate when DH does that. So I know exactly how you feel OP. I dont have a problem with him going out, but I hate when he doesnt answer my calls nor texts!
Ashley Roan·
OH! I just thought of this! Tomorrow is my best friend's son's birthday party. She lives over an hour away and he doesn't want to go because he says that "we have so much to do to get ready for the baby"!
I'm totally making him paint the dressers we just scored on craigslist tomorrow now while I take the kids to the party!
"You're right honey! We DO have a lot to do! Sorry your heads feels like it was run over by a bulldozer and you feel like your going to blow chunks! Here's some sandpaper and a paint brush. Have fun!"

When SO did this to me I packed up a little bit of my stuff left him a letter and let just say I had a lot of missed calls that night and the next day. Lol
And guess what his reason was for stay out late. His oh so smart friend that's 23 with 4+ kids told him to stay out later because when the baby comes he won't be able to do anything! And my SO being a dummy listened to him! When he told me I couldn't help but laugh, it's like no wonder why your friend "can't do anything" he has a soccer team! Your only having one child! Lol lets just say he never did it again.
Sorry if that's so long guys can be so clueless!
Ashley Roan·
I don't have any of their numbers. I only have the wives' numbers and I wouldn't want to wake any of them up.
Ashley Roan·
Exactly, AB! He'd lose his s*** if I did this!
deleted-user·
Call one of his friends , I'm sorry op husbands can be dumb around "the guys"
Ashley Roan·
I just called him and he didn't answer. I swear on everything holy, if he doesn't come home tonight, things will not go well.
Ashley Roan·
Ugh! Why do they do this??
I really don't want to be a nag! He really deserves to go out and have fun and I have zero issues with that. But dude - 2 kids at home and a pregnant wife, you have no business being out this late! Not that he's out getting in trouble... It's just that we have children! We can't be hungover and in bed all weekend, it's just not life anymore.
deleted-user·
Yea I feel your anger. My SO got off work and said he was coming home. 4 hours later and he's leaving the bar...
a****** .
Ashley Roan·
I would but I have two kids sleeping and I don't want to leave them. I've also already taken off the bra for the night and there is no way I'm putting that thing back on. Haha!!
