Being Monitored during labor

I was in L&D last night, I fell and had some contractions and high BP.

I was monitored through both my Vance but still able to move around xxx as long as they can still hear baby's heart beat touring to move

You could ask if they have a wireless monitor :)

Oh ok! Thanks!!

I got monitored the other day with contractions but they let me walk for an hour. I think some hospitals are different. I'm sure if I go into full labor that they keep me they probably would keep me hooked up. They said they defiantly watch you more

The hospital had a birthing ball i was able to use.

Thank you ladies! I really appreciate it!

You can ask. I toured the hospital before birth and asked those questions. My last hospital had one.

Also, sorry if this is a dumb question, but should I bring my own yoga/birthing ball? I don't have one but can buy one.

Even though I was monitored during labor, I didn't have trouble getting around, rocking, being on yoga ball, etc

I had a successful vbac and was monitored the whole time in Dec. Once i got to the hospital i was only confined to the bed for about twenty min until the nst was reactive. Then i got to get up. I had to stay on the monitors but i was able to stand my entire labor. I walked along side the bed, used the birthing ball and did squats. I was never confined to the bed. Got to hospital at 11am and was 5cm then had her at 3pm so i stood and squatted for around 3.5hrs then got on the bed on all 4s and rocked her down till she was crowning then flipped to my back and started pushing. So all together i was only on the bed for approximately thirty min.

They monitored me the entire time but I refused to stay in the bed. I stood beside it and held on to it as I rocked through contractions.

Most hospitals do this. My hospital has a few wireless monitors, so you can ask about that. I didn't get to use the wireless, but could still go all over the room and bathroom while hooked up

I'm ok with some monitoring, I just don't want it to restrict my ability to move around.

I planned an hbac so I was intermittedly monitored. Considering cfm is known for high false positives I would really want to know the evidence that supports them for vbac.....

Monitoring is e best way to detect a uterine rupture. So I think it is worth it, personally, to be continuously monitored, even though it is a pain.

Does your hospital have any wireless monitoring devices? Some do.

Otherwise, you might ask if the machine will stretch far enough that you could be right next to it on a yoga ball, chair, standing with partner, etc. sometimes that is an option.

Short Luteal Phase?

I've just started temping because I believe that the reason I haven't had a BFP yet, after 20 months, is because I believe I may have a Luteal Phase Defect.
