Name "reveal" rant!!
I get that some ladies don't want to tell what name they are choosing for their baby because they don't want to hear all the "I don't like that" or "that's a terrible idea" shenanigans and from other people.

Im sure that she is just really excited. I think thats kinda cute. Just because you dont care doesnt mean noone else does.

It's a cute idea though it sounds like maybe she should have been more selective on who she invited on the event..

I think its a cute idea.

It's her 3rd baby and she invited people like my mom and my brother who she has talked to all but twice (these are just two examples).
Maybe I am the only one who doesn't care that you've gained 20 lbs and you just went to Walmart to buy new maternity shorts. That's fine, I can be alone in my thoughts... LOL! :-)

I find that to be a common problem with expectant mothers...they assume or expect everyone else to be as excited as they are. Example: Gender reveal parties.

Oh, ok. I went and reread your post about adding twohundred something ppl. Yeah thats kinda crazy. And 3rd baby, I can see your point there too :)

Dumb.

I think it's a cute idea and I also loved the gender reveal party my SIL had. BUT, I would only care if it was my immediate family or close friends. 282 people is crazy!!!

If gender reveal parties didn't involve free food, I wouldn't go to them :)

im a newlywed, its my 5th baby, last one was 12 yrs ago, all were boys, never had a baby shower or anything for my others. so all my friends/fam are excited. we are having a gender reveal and bby shower by popular demand. now i know you didnt ask and dont care to know, but my point is, others may genuinely be interested in others pregnancy. rave over

And I'm not saying others aren't. I care of about her well being and the baby's of course... BUT I can guarantee you 282 people don't care about the name she chooses or how long she plans on breastfeeding, particularly MEN who are not her husband, brothers, or father.

I honestly feel bad for even posting this! LOL! I hate to gossip but I just had to get it off my chest, it has just been bothering me.

@ OP, now that i understand. i totally just blabber & give info when asked. and definitely filter who i tell info to. im 4 months and we havent even announced to FB or some fam at all.

Oh wow.... That's a lil over kill ..

Is there a reason why ppl don't feel that a 2nd, 3rd, 4th baby is as important or special? I guess I don't get it. Its her 3 rd baby so she should just hush or not be as excited?
deleted-user·
It's Facebook so I'm sure it's mostly a popularity contest for her anyway. Stupid yes but completely expected.
deleted-user·
Hell even if it was her first baby still effin over kill
Ashley Roan·
Yes you can still be excited about every child, PP. in my experience though, people always make a bigger deal out of your first baby, sometimes the second, but then after that it just kind of tapers off. That's just the way it is I think.

Ill agree over 200 on facebook seems like a lot. but in my family it is normal to have one of those guessing charts, people expect it. for ours you pay money for each guess and then the winner get half and half goes to savings for the baby. We all do the big gender reveal too. But we only do close friends and family.
Ashley Roan·
Well maybe this just isn't common practice where I am from and not used to it. I don't even know one person that has ever had a gender reveal party.
