Hospital Bag for C-Section!!

I know I am having a c-section at the end of October so I know I will be in the hospital for a good 4 days. I was wondering what all I should pack for me and my LO for the lengthy stay! I had an emergency c-section at just 37 weeks with my first so I didn't even have a bag that time. I want to be prepared as possible this time! Thanks ladies!!! :)

if u teach her to climb out...she will and may not wait for chair...safety issue. at which point this would be a good time for toddler bed.

I just thought that since u have a toddler u can keep a chair by her crib n just help her climb in r out instead of picking her up i also have a 21 month old lo am due in march n im gonna try 4 a vbac but u never no wat will happen good luck n safe recovery

you got a ton of great replies. when picking a pj set to bring make sure its loose and make sure your panties aren't low rise you don't want to hurt you or the incision, camera, batteries/charger, phone, charger for phone, socks, snacks for hubby, magazines or books, baby clothes, tooth brush and paste, shower stuff, robe, slippers, make up, and a whole lot of smiles. congrats mommy!

good one, didn't think of a brush! Anyone think of anything else?

Don't forget a brush -- the hospital only had combs and it SUCKED for my long, knotted hair!

I guess every person is different but I've heard your not supposed to lift for 2 to 4 weeks. I cant remember what they told me after my last one. You can drive after 2 weeks. Does your crib turn into a toddler bed? Babies r us has rails that run along the sides of the bed so maybe that might help both of us out!

I'm having a scheduled C on oct 28th. I am glad that this list was written up cuz I'd be lost w/o it. Lol. I too have a 24 month old son who loves his crib. I'm not sure how I'm going to get him in and out of it as my husband is handicapped and unable to walk let alone lift him up. how long is the recovery two weeks?

my hospital gives u net undies, they also gave me 4 extra pairs to take home. That way your undies don't get totaled!

this is my checklist for my bag and babies bag. c-section in 10 days.

my bag:

pajamas (nightgowns are best)

nursing pads

maxi pads

maternity undies

slippers

socks

robe

face wash

shampoo/conditioner

toothbrush/paste

camera/charger

cell phone/charger

a book

a notebook

ipod/laptop

going home outfit

baby bag:

2 gowns

2 onesies

going home outfit

mittens

socks

swaddler

blanket

burp rags

boppy

note that i work in a hospital and prerer not to wear a hospital gown/robe or socks.

i am also very picky about my personal care items and choose to bring my own. most hospitals will supply you with soap, toothpaste, shampoo, etc..

with my first c-section they put me in adult breifs/diapers after the surgery and they gave me a rash.. so i will be bringing my own maxi pads as to avoid that.

I bought a cheap robe and did wear the hospital gowns with the robe over it. I also took slippers that were non slip, I really didn't like the hospital socks! for my dd we brought around 4 outfits. My hospital only had the short t-shirts and I figured my family would want to check out her tiny toes and would be unwrapping her so I wanted her to be warm. The other thing I did was when we went home I had my hubby set our pack n play up in the living room and stocking it with diapers and extra clothes. Ours has a changing table on it so it made my life way easier! Im really nervous this time around, my dd will be 20 months old when this lil one is born and im freaking out about how I will get my dd in her crib for nap. everyone say to use a toddler bed but I think 20 months will be to young! If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask!

Good call on the meds! I remember the same thing happening!! :) How many outfits should I bring for my LO? I know they mostly wear the hospital stuff so I was just thinking about 2 outfits, 1 for pictures while at the hospital and another for coming home. Would that be sufficient? And did you just wear the hospital gown while at the hospital for all 4 days? I don't want to ruin any of my stuff while there and all I remember is a lot of blood!!!!

Your big undies, a gown or dress to go home in, I had my dh bring my boppy to the hospital to make nursing easier. I also had an emergency c last time. and something that would've been more helpful is if the dr would've given my hubby my prescriptions before we left so I wouldn't have had to sit in the car in pain while he ran in the store to get them. This time we will get them the day before! Ill try to think of more:)

Vaginal labor is so easy I would rather take the contractions any day than to have to have a c section
