Annoyed about baby's weight comments
Ok I just need to vent a little on here. My baby is a healthy chunky baby. I think she's cute (of course every mother thinks their baby is ?) and I think she's cute being all chunky and cuddly. I HATE it how people say she's "too fat" or they even look at her with a kind of disgust face saying she's too big. It really just pisses me off. They're like "Oh no! she's too big for her age." Or "that's not normal" or they look at her with that sad look like I'm on purposely making her that way. I never dealt with this with my first and he was a chunky baby too. I do not over feed her and she actually doesn't even eat too much of her baby food. She mainly drinks breastmilk. Anybody else having this issue? I know some people might have the issue of being told their baby is too small or skinny. What do you do in these situations? It's one thing when they say "Oh she's so chunky" with a smile on their face and another when they say with a concerned or frown face saying "They are too big or fat" ?

I totally understand how you feel. My first was such a big baby. Born almost 10 pounds and plumped up fast. It got so bad I would snap at people when they would say stuff like that. Bottom line it's rude and completely disrespectful. They wouldn't tell us we're too big so why is it okay to say it about a baby. I don't get it!! Tell them to shove it!!

Yea I just think it's really rude when they say it in such an ugly way. Feels like they are bullying her ?

Omg I get that too especially people that I don't even know or even family members who haven't seen her. She's only 20 pounds and 27 inches. My baby girl has big thighs and arms she absolutely precious. People are so rude tho they think I over feed her too. Unbelievable!!!

My first was huge! She was like 23 pounds and 29 inches by 6 months by a year she was 32 pounds! Omg she was such a huge rollie pollie baby. I loved it! People didn't say stuff to me but she's now 3 and is 35 pounds and 41 inches. She just gained all her weight her first year of life, a lot of breastfed babies do. I'm sorry people are making you feel bad.

My gran just said today my baby needs to go on a diet. "He needs to get a little skinny, he's 20lbs!!!" You can never please everyone so u might as well do what makes you happy.

Ugghh I feel your pain ladies. I want to punch the next person that comments on my babies weight. My baby was healthy chunky size when born but was not gaining heaps of weight with jaundice and tongue tie for 2 months but has now got deep rolls on legs and arms and is a healthy weight. The other week my sil said Ohhh look at her she's getting chunky and so big now I was happy and proud and she said must be the solids she's on now and not my expressed milk which made me feel a bit sad. And then the day after to pick up my 6 year old from school a mother said oh your baby is so tiny. Made me want to knock her out cos she felt heavy in my arms and her clothes are tight and I have to adjust the seatbelt in her car seat cos she's getting too big for it. Her baby is younger than mine but she looks small to me and she's on formula but I wouldn't ever say anything like that to her.

I hate anything like this my baby is really long and people keep saying he's huge... He only weighs 15lbs 13oz at 7 month. Also he's quite pale and his uncle keeps calling him Casper and it really frustrates me I know that's not his weight but it's the same kinder thing I think it's wrong I don't want him growing up embarrassed, it may make him feel like he needs to go on the sun beds which would be putting him at risk when he's older :-(

Everyone tells me how small my son is and well really everyone is just my mom lol, she always says he's tiny compared to whoever's baby, its annoying, but I just say no he's not he's my big boy!! Tell them to mind their business!
