I couldn't see them yesterday but I see them today! So weird. I have a galaxy s4

They're only visible on iPhone/iPad. The android app doesn't show them. Someone else mentioned that on an older post when the badges first started showing up.

Stars are for 3+ years. I've been on this app under the same account since early 2012 & I don't have a star yet.
