Petty rant ?

I love love love my hair dresser. She is amazing and is the only person I trust with my luscious locks. I had a long appt booked with her for this Saturday for major color and a major cut and it's been booked for 2 months. She just messaged me an hour ago to tell me she had someone else booked for that day before me and never put it in her appt book and had to cancel on me. I'm so sad because I've been looking forward to this since I scheduled with her. She only works every other Saturday and Sundays she doesn't work at all, so if I reschedule with her I'm looking at 2 months out again. Rant over. I'm just so sad.

That's bs. It's not your fault she over booked, she should be making herself available at your convenience to do the job she was scheduled to do. I'd be annoyed too.

As a hairstylist myself I would still make it work. I would have you come in at the end of the day if I had to or even come in earlier.

That happened to me the last time i booked my hair appointment. I was sooo upset because I was looking forward to it for a month.

She asked me about coming in during the week, but it doesn't work with my husbands hours. He never knows when he will be out of work and I'm already looking at $150 for my hair plus tip. So I don't want to pay a sitter on top of that. I pretty much told her that and haven't heard back from her.

My hairdresser did this to me a few times. Needless to say she's no longer my hairdresser.

ETA: If she valued your business & you as a customer she'd come in on her Saturday off to do your hair.

It seems like she just decided she wanted to go do this girls hair. Apparently the girl lives about 2 hours away, so why would she choose her Saturday she works in the salon to drive out there? It's not for a special occasion. Just a cut and color according to her.

I feel she should have accommodated you for that

If she isn't treating her clients right then she's going to start losing clients. She needs to accommodate your schedule since she is the one who overbooked. I would ask her very nicely if she could make it work for a weekend day in the near future so that you don't have to wait 2 months. If she says no then I'd find someone new who is actually professional and will work with you when they make mistakes. And after I did that I'd let her know why you decided not to go back to her.

She still never got back to me. She must not feel that bad, looks like I need to find a new hair dresser.

I wouldn't go back. That's pretty unprofessional (and rude) of her. I would leave a bad review on yelp, Facebook, or whatever.

Eta- not a petty rant imo. I'd be super pissed off.

I would do exactly what spidey said. That's so unprofessional of her. This isn't a petty rant at all. I would be upset too.

I felt like I was being a baby at first, until my SIL said it's totally unprofessional and she should be accommodating me. I've been with her for over 2 years and brought her countless clients, 6 since I started going to her.

Unfortunately some people only care about the money. If that client was paying her more than you, then that might be why she canceled. My old hair dresser was over charging me for years until she quit. I only found out after the lady who took her place went to check me out and saw what she had been doing. By then it was too late. It's no surprise the reason she quit was to work at a salon with higher prices to make more money. Some people just don't have any morals. And she wasn't hurting for money, she was always wearing expensive clothing and her husband is a physical therapist. She's even told me she would stay home but she would get bored which is why she has a job, so why she would be over charging me is beyond me. I would just take it as a lesson learned and try to find someone else with better hours.

I just absolutely love some women on here! Some woman wants to write on another women's post telling her she shouldn't be having sex at all in the beginning of pregnancy. I didn't know she was her doctor. Then she wants to tell me that the first trimester is only 1-9 weeks pregnant. And she lost her baby at 4 weeks pregnant due to sex. Like sweetie that's your period starting!

Tell me if I'm wrong here.

Tell me if I'm wrong here. My husband's sil has covid. She's obviously quarantining in her house but is still loving on her kids and husband. I'm sorry but if I had it I would lock myself in a room. She hasn't gotten her kids tested... they're obviously doing the whole remote learning and quarantining for two weeks but she plans to send them back without testing them on the Monday after Thanksgiving 😬😱. My husband thinks I'm overreacting but I told him I don't want to see them on Christmas. I'm in the middle of iui cycles and don't want to risk this. Besides I don't think I could sit in a room with her knowing how irresponsible she has been not only with her family's health but those that are coming into contact with her and her family.
