I am going to lose it!
I went to pick my daughter up from school because she wasn't feeling well. When I get to the school to pick her up the lady in the main office notified me that her and the other lady that work in the office both stepped away from their desks and when they both came back my 5 year old was standing outside all alone waiting for me to pick her up. Why was my child outside by herself and why was no one at the desk? I tried to call the principal who had already left for the day so I sent him an email, this is an elementary school. My child or any other child for that matter could have been kidnapped. Sorry this is all over I'm so upset they allowed this to happen.
So I never heard back from the principal. I called the school and the secretary went to see if he was available. He was "on the phone" but said he emailed me back. Which he did not, and said he would call me back in a few minutes. It's been a half hour since then and still no call. I can't believe my child's safety is not a concern to them.
I will! I keep furiously checking my email hoping the principal emailed me back
School is closed tomorrow so I expect to hear back from the principal on Monday. If I do not hear back from him then I will be going to the superintendents office. Thank god my daughter is safe but what happened was totally unacceptable.
^^ call the police? ? that's a tad bit of an over reaction lol.. They have a lot better things to do. OP could simply follow up with the principal about the situation and hope it gets addressed.
Now if it happened more than once or to multiple children, or the principal blew her off, then maybe I can see calling the cops. But a one time deal? Ehhh..
TC I can't imagine how you felt finding that out from your child and not the school.
They had no excuse. Not even an apology. They acted as if my daughter was completely at fault for that. She is 5. They are the adults.
One time my daughter went to the nurses office because she wasn't feeling good. They called home for someone to pick her up. Supposably her dad. They told her to sit down and wait that he would be there in a few minutes. A guy walks into the office to pick up "his" daughter and they told her ok you can go now your dads here. It wasn't her dad! They called the wrong parent! Some other kids dad! After realizing the mistake the office lady then called me to pick my daughter up. Never mentioned anything to me about the mistake. My daughter was the one who told me. So I called the principal to complain. Luckily my daughter was old enough to know better than to leave with a stranger and I could only hope that dad was a good guy
He finally called me back and said he spoke to the one lady at the front desk and told her it was unacceptable. The other lady is out so he will be talking to her tomorrow.
