Anyone

Lactose intolerant? DD has been complaining of her stomach hurting her a lot lately. We haven't had a change in diet at all. The only thing I can think of would be possibly lactose intolerant. Her dr told me to cut dairy from her diet for a week, but I can see this being an issue cause DD loves her milk

Thank you ladies! I'm going to explore all of these options. Hopefully I can find a fix for this. I hate hearing her stomach is always hurting her.

Almond silk milk, helped my sister. She didn't complain about her tummy after that.

No.. its just milk.. raw milk can be whole, low fat, or non fat.. as Amelia said most people will not have an issue with raw milk but it is much more expensive. We pay $16 a gallon. The milk your currently drinking is actually thicker bc of all the additives they put back in it after boiling all the good stuff out. Imagine taking your breast milk and boiling the crap outta it, scooping out all the good stuff the separates and throwing that out, and then add in your own vit a palpmiate, vit d, another type of milk (usually non fat) ?. Nooo.. right?

Raw milk is just milk.. if your lucky enough to get it fresh from a diary farm, I'm jealous! I hope you try it out and it works for u as well.

She will be much healthier without milk in her diet.

Very Interesting @notyourmomma! Now my question now is the milk thick? I ask because I cannot drink thick milk, it grosses me out ?

I hate to step in this soap box but I kinda like you op.. so here it is.. lactose free milk is NOT LACTOSE FREE. It's milk where they put the additive enzymes to help break down lactose in the milk. Lactose is created in milk during the heating process. Once they heat up milk, they boil out all the good stuff in milk only to add supplements back into your milk (vit a, vit d, non fat milk). My suggestion would be to do your research on milks to find which one will work for you and your family. I am lactose intolerant and in my household we drink raw milk and no one has issues with milk now. Organicpastures.com is a good website for you to read on. Also the only ingredient my raw milk is milk, crazy right?! I don't like other milk substitutes due it a lot of them being full of sugars. But the only other milk we will drink is coconut milk but not the refrigerated brand. Good luck, and I hope you find something that works for your baby!

Yes try lactose free milk! We love it, taste the same as regular milk and no tummy aches!

We buy the Kirkland brand from Costco was cheaper than the name brand Lactaid. Try it out :)

There's a lactose free milk called Lactaid. They also make ice cream. It's really good, you can't even tell the difference. My fiancé is lactose intolerant, but super picky, and if this didn't taste like real milk/ice cream, he honestly would just make himself sick eating the real stuff (which is what he did when we tried soy, almond, cashew, etc). Thankfully, he loves Lactaid and it's the go to milk in our house now! I hope you figure out what's wrong and your DD feels better!!!

I buy a lactose free milk. They have all different kinds lactose free 2%, 1%, whole, etc..

I'm lactose intolerant so I buy it and my daughter drinks it. It tastes exactly the same.

Dd had trouble going occasionally also.

They make dairy free milk as pp said. I have no experience with that though. There's also coconut milk, almond milk, cashew milk, soy milk. I wouldn't recommend soy milk though. Almond milk was our first choice. Maybe just try her on different ones and see which she likes best.

She doesn't have blood in her stool or throwing up but the constant complaint of stomach aches and taking a while to poop, then have the time it's coming out as liquid. What would be a good substitute?

Dd1 is allergic to the protein in milk. She would get stomach aches, throw up and blood in her stools. We switched her to almond milk and she loves it. Maybe try a nondairy substitute?

Lactose intolerance?? Have any of you ladies become lactose intolerant during your pregnancies?? I never had a problem…

Lactose intolerance?? Have any of you ladies become lactose intolerant during your pregnancies?? I never had a problem until this pregnancy and I'm wondering if it'll go away after I give birth or will I forever be this way?And also does this mean my baby will be lactose intolerant? My baby's father is lactose intolerant. Sorry if it sounds dumb but I'm just wondering. Lol
