What is a good pair of shoes for a baby?
DS is 11 months and is taking steps on his own now. I want to get him shoes but something good and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg. What do you recommend?

My son had a cute pair of nikes that he wore when he first started walking. Now he wears Nike sandals or just cheap Walmart shoes lol.

It depends... Every 2 days, something that was the norm is no longer recommended. Some suggest traditional walking shoes and others recommend being barefoot or soft, flexible shoes like Pediped, Robeez, or Stride Rite. I never bought my daughter the hard walking shoes. Instead, she wore/wears moccasins. Cost wise, they seemed to be a better value than normal shoes because she was able to wear them for a longer period of time. Who knows, next week tree branches will be the AAP recommendation.

We always did stride rite. They are expensive $30-40 but we would shop the BOGO sales and get one he needs now and then the next size up.

I want something he can use outside. Wouldn't robeez get trashed too fast?

My daughters first and second shoes were Robeez, however recently I have been spending more money and getting her freshly picked.
She has not had harder bottom shoes yet like stride rite(they are good for babies) however I want her to feel as close to barefoot as possible. Which is when she and her feet are happiest (-:
