Best airline?

To fly from Syracuse to Florida in October? I've heard a ton of bad stories about AA. Anyone fly them and have good experience? Also one with reasonable luggage rates as it will be 2 adults and 2 kids. One being just over 1 when we go so I will be bringing a stroller along.

Are high back boosters allowed on the plane? I will. I'm hoping I can find something good for the both of them.

We pretty much use the extra seat for air travel and then in the rental car. The seat we bought was like $40-ish (Cosco Scenera). If you find a good, light 5 point harness, will you let me know? We don't need one anytime soon (and my son may outgrow the limits and need a highback booster by the time we fly again), but I'd like to have one in mind just in case. :) We are also heading to Disney, in April, so excited! :)

Pond- I am going to be purchasing seats just for the flight because the seats I have my kids in now are heavy seats. We plan to use them as back up seats for my in laws car.

We always pay for a seat for our son (and will for the baby whenever we fly with him). Yes, you can bring a front-facing seat on the plane, as long as it's FAA approved. It is a pain to lug the seat around, but I feel more comfortable with my child in his own seat. I actually bought a lighter convertible seat just for traveling because our Britax seat was so heavy. Will have to find a lighter five-point harness in the future for our older kid.

Cmurphy actually no I am not paying for the 4 seats. My inlaws are taking all of us. So it's actually a total of 11 people flying. I feel like it would be a pain to have my son on my lap for a flight that's a few hours long.

Sorry just now getting back to this, we booked our tickets over the phone with them. 2 seats next to each other on the same flight. When we went to the airport to fly home from where we were they had one of us on the correct flight and the other on a flight a week later. Our flight was boarding in less than an hour and their customer service was extremely unhelpful in fixing our problems and tried to charge us over $1,000 to fix their mistake. It was the worst customer service I've ever received from anyone

So you're going to be purchasing 4 seats. That's pretty expensive. I flew and just kept my baby in my lap. She fell asleep before take off on each plane. There's no child discount.

You can take your stroller. But lugging a carry on, car seat, and purse on and off the plane is annoying! Planes are much safer than cars in my opinion.

Southwest has free bags & you will learn to pack light of be paying fees for a bag over the limit.

Check on airfare watchdog. They may have some cheap flights to Orlando.

@nancy car seat will be on the plane cause my LO will be sitting in it during the flight. Are forward facing car seats allowed? My daughter will be 5 and is in a 5 pt harness still.

We only fly Jet Blue and have only had great experiences with them...especially once we started traveling with a baby.

I need a TV to fly...have to watch my law and order to get through the flight...not sure which other airlines have them, but for sure a deal breaker for me. Ha.

Avred- I am right outside of Syracuse so Albany is not too far for me!

Southwest or JetBlue. Southwest is usually a little cheaper though.

Southwest is the first 2 bags free per person, one free carry on per person plus purse or diaper bag, checking in car seats and strollers are free as well. They also let families with small children board first

Albany is doing Jet Blue direct to Orlando now. Idk if you live in Syracuse, but it might be worth the drive. Every time we've gone to Disney we have had layovers in Philadelphia and Atlanta and it SUCKS.

Oh and fly into mco not Sanford. Mco is much better for Disney and less out of the way

Southwest is my favorite they don't charge for bags. I also like delta, but jet blue is really nice leather seats so you can wipe them down, and they normally have tvs on the back of every chair.

First 2 checked bags are free on SW, they do charge extra for oversized or bags over the weight limit.

Bags are ALWAYS free for southwest? No matter how many bags I bring? I will be buying my son a seat because I want him in his car seat on the flight. I'm so new to all of this. There will be actually a total of 11 of us but I only have 4 in my family.

I love southwest! Bags are always free! Lots of cheap flights, destinations, and pleasant customer service. If your little one is under two and on your lap during the flight, you will only need 3 tickets. Also all open seating not assigned! And the stroller you take right up the Tarmac and then they fold it under the plane, and then they fold it out when they arrive so it's waiting for u right outside the gate

Anna, what was bad about them?

We are going to Disney so Orlando. Does anyone know if it's costly to bring a stroller? Renting one at Disney is an outrageous price for being there 9 days.

I think we fly JetBlue or AirTran most of the time became their rates are usually the cheapest for us. I've flown AA before and I think it's always been a fine experience.
