ANOTHER UPDATE!!!!
So he will still need surgery. But they are letting him eat and the IV has been shut off. Looking at a possible discharge for Saturday!!!!
UPDATE: I just spoke with the dr and he has Hirschsprung's disease. They are going to see how he feeds and see if it's possible to do dilation of the rectum to send him home and setup an appt with the dr as an outpatient if it doesn't work well then he will have 2 separate surgeries and they will give him a colostomy bag for a few months till the next surgery.
Jennifer it was the best feeling ever. I started to cry. They are looking at taking his IV out soon too! He is handling the feedings well so it's a plus
Another update: they took the tube out of his nose and I got to breast feed him for 5 minutes last night. They didn't want him to eat too much because we were testing it out. Just got off the phone with the nurse and he hasn't vomited from the feeding and Is having smears of poop in his diaper. No ropogal (tube in his nose) put back in! All awesome signs!!! Still waiting on the tests from pathology but we should get those back today. All awesome things so far! My little man is strong!!! Thank you for the continued prayers.
UPDATE: They will be taking the tube out of his nose so I can nurse him. We are hoping that he will still poop and not vomit after a feeding and that his stomach doesn't distend again. Still waiting on pathology for results of his biopsy. Please keep praying for us!
Jennifer- he has been pooping a lot since they did the enema. About 10 poopy diapers and they did the enema last night around 9. His tummy was very distended. Before he was transferred to the nicu his stomach was 37 cm around. It's now down to 33 cm but still distended.
Jennifer- meconeum when my water broke. They won't allow him to eat. That tube actually runs into his stomach to drain the green bile that he was throwing up. They did an x Ray and didn't see anything. He had a gastrografin enema last night that shows he has a narrow colon ending.
Looking- they actually said that it could be that. They did a biopsy on his intestines, we are waiting for the results on that. What was the outcome for your LO?
Prayers. ?
