Trigger warning** miscarriage?! Someone please read.
My sister is pregnant. She had 2 positive pregnancy tests. She went for an US today and the U.S. tech told her that she didn't see anything (this was a vaginal ultrasound) my poor sister is freaking out and has no idea what is going on. She is waiting for the dr to call her back. The office for US is not at her Drs office. She is asking me what is happening and I honestly don't know. She is having spotting but no cramping. Then she told me she had blood work done last Tuesday and they never called her with the results. Anyone have any idea what's going on? The only thing running threw her mind is she is miscarrying.
I pretty much had the same thing happen to me. I was too early to see anything, even on an internal vaginal ultrasound.
They sent me for two sets of bloodwork, one 48 hours after the other, to see if my HCG levels rose. Thankfully they did. I know how your sister feels, because that was the hardest, most heart wrenching weekend of my life.
Honestly, you need to tell your sister to remain calm. Panic is the last thing the baby needs, and will only make everything worse. It sounds stupid, and it sounds so "duh" but she needs to remain as calm as possible. My fingers are crossed and hoping for the best.
I am praying her levels go back up! Stay positive!! I know that's easier said than done. She could have spotting because of having a vaginal ultrasound that is very common and it's a good sign she isn't having any cramping. It's also common to spot on and off at first and some people spot off and on their whole pregnancy. I had a miscarriage the end of January and I had tons of cramping and a lot of bleeding. She may not be able to see anything because it is to early. Usually you have to wait until at least 6weeks. They should not have said that to her without any explanation!! I would be furious too and now she has to wait a long weekend and I'm sure they are off on Monday too before she can get any answers from her OB. Not to tell you what to do but if it was me I would definitely say something about it when she calls the office next week. The ultrasound techs are NOT suppose to say anything. They are suppose to let the doctor look at it first. You all are in my prayers!! Please keep us posted and I'm here if you need to talk!
Her hCG levels are down to 2500. They also said the sac is oddly shaped. They did a pelvic exam and she has minimal bleeding with no cramping. The ER dr said he cannot say for sure if she is miscarrying. That her levels still have a possibility to go back up. They pulled her from work for 3 days with no heavy lifting. She is a wreck right now. I wish I had encouraging words but I don't believe I am the best person for her to be around being 29 weeks pregnant.
Thank you everyone. Still up here. We are waiting for her blood test to come back still.
Thank you everyone. We got here 3 and a half hours ago. They took blood and did an ultrasound. Still waiting to be called back.
She is having red blood then brown blood. I think she should go to the hospital and she is debating it.
I literally just went through this last week. I knew I was "pregnant" for only a week. I had positive urine tests but my HCG levels were low only a 25 and they didn't see anything on the ultrasound at 6+1 When that happens it means (not saying that it's happening to her) that you only developed the placenta. Over the first weeks you know it has to separate into 3 different layers the placenta first, then the water sac then the embryo. My pregnancy never developed past the first layer. I started with light pink spotting then over the next 3 days it got heavier and it was very painful like mild contractions then I started bleeding really heavy and I passed a huge blood clot that was the tissue mixed with the placenta. I hope that she isn't going through that & all is well but everything you described is what I went through.
I'm sorry you went threw that PP. I hope they figure out what is going on. I feel horrible. I don't even know what to say to her.
I just recently had a chemical pregnancy. I started spotting but was getting positive pregnancy tests, I went to the hospital and they said I wasn't pregnant (they made me feel like I was basically lying about being pregnant as their urine test came back neg) I went home still spotting and got another positive! I bleed for the whole day and then the next night it got super heavy (like a normal period) I did another test and it was negative. I bled for 5 days just like a normal period after that. And didn't get any more positives.
I wish she would go elsewhere for a second opinion but she really likes her midwife and won't leave her. My heart breaks for her because I am currently pregnant and I don't want to make her feel bad when I'm around her. I have my nephew 3 times a week while my sister works so she sees me all the time.
So I don't think the U.S. tech should have said anything to her. I don't think it was her place to tell her she couldn't see anything. Her dr called her and said she can see a sac but it is oddly shaped and not normal sized I guess? They are bringing her back in next week for blood work and another U.S. Her dr said she has a 75 % chance of miscarrying.
Also, she said her spotting is only when she wipes. It's not in the toilet or on her underwear at all.
They didn't give her an EDD at her first appt. her dr told her they would give her it at her first sono. I just found out her levels came back at 9000 from last weeks blood tests. I'm upset they would allow her to leave without any explanation.
I'm hoping it's too early to see. She is devastated over this and hasn't gotten any answers from anyone.
Dad's FB Video!!
Did anyone see that video a dad posted on his daughters FB page? He saw a post she made where she bashed her parents and cursed them, called them lazy and told them they should pay her for stuff she did around the house... So he called her out on it and put the video on her page!! Sorry if I missed a post already about this already, but I just saw the video and IT WAS AWESOME!!! Hahahhaa!
Has anyone tried evening primrose oil to start soften they cervix ? My sister did it and she had her baby this morning at 39 weeks
I hate my generation sometimes ?
Today was my nieces baby shower, which went great. She got so much which amazing since she's been working 2 jobs trying to save up for the unpaid leave she'll have to take from work. Anyways I was talking to one of the ladies there since my son and her daughter were playing together. I asked her what her daughters name was, she said it was Layla. I told her that's a really pretty name and asked her if she was a Clapton fan and if she was named after the song. Th...

Her helmet she got so she can be safe (as she told me) when she rides her bike and scooter lol
Ladies thank you so much for your concern. She is now starting to have cramping. I feel horrible for what is going on with her. She was very excited to be a mommy again and I was excited to have a niece or nephew. Her jerk boyfriend is not being supportive during this time. I keep texting her every few hours to see how she is doing. I told her she needs to file a complaint with the office manager about the ultrasound tech opening her mouth like that! It was so uncalled for and she isn't a dr. She couldn't see anything but the dr and the ER dr could see the sac so it makes me wonder if she was trained properly. Not to mention she had a scared look on her face while telling my sister she couldn't see anything. I'm praying that everything is okay with baby and I appreciate the prayers for them. She really needs them.
