Baby whispers!!! I need your help!

I am baby sitting a friends 7 month old. He is very needy, I get all babies are needy but I have never watched a child that literally needs to be held every second of the day. I can't put him down to make my daughter and myself lunch without him having a meltdown as if someone is hurting him. He also only takes 15-20 min naps and I'm not quite sure why. Again I never experienced this with my daughter or nephew. Please help!!!

I would recommend doing a back carry. I carried my son until labor with my second (13 months apart) without any problems. I had a normal pregnancy though.

Edit; and yeah, some babies do "catnaps", my dd did until she was 11mo-1yr unless i napped with her. But it can also be that he wakes up because he's scared and wants to make sure you're stil there.

I will be watching him 3-4 times a week 5 days a week. I'm now the 4-5 sitter she has had for him. Can I use a carrier while pregnant ? He won't even play with any of his toys. If I'm not walking around with him he is crying unless we are out for a walk. Also is it normal he is only taking 20 min naps ? My daughter and nephew slept for at least an hour when they were his age. I know every child is different. That's just why I'm asking.

There is no "holding a baby too much"-really... Its a way for them to learn that their caretaker are there for them. When they are ready and know they can trust that mom/dad/etc will come back they can relax more and be more independent.
Its different with different babies but yeah, seems like lo is scared. Its new and scary and he doesnt know what he can trust yet. Its normal. Its how babies survive! They know they are helpless and need someone to care for them.

So, i wouldnt try any cio-ish/forcing lo down. That will only make it worse, esp in the long run. Maybe you can ask what his mom usually does to make him feel comfortable? Are you going to watch him often? If so - it will get better, he will learn to trust you if you just give him time :) i understand its stressful though.

He has been fed changed and napped. His father came out and told me mom holds him too much. I was feeding him his jar food at the same time as we were eating he ate about half of it then stopped and started screaming. I have an ergo carrier but I'm also 23 weeks pregnant with a decent size belly and don't know how that will work being pregnant.

Maybe he's scared. My lo gets like this with others. Does he eat solids yet. When I'm eating I just sit my lo down un his chair and give him fruits or veggies

Do you have a carrier or wrap handy? You can do both!
