New to BF any info will help
I tried bf my daughter when I had her, the hospital was no help with it and I couldn't get my daughter to latch right. Now that I think about it I know nothing about breast feeding and I really want to breast feed this baby badly. How often do you switch breasts? Should I also be pumping ?

You don't need to pump unless you are going to work. A little bit saved up can be nice though so you can go out for a little bit without baby. They recommend switching breasts every 10 minutes or so but baby won't always cooperate. My son will only feed on one side per feeding. If that happens just keep track of which side you fed on last and start from the opposite side.Talk to a lactation consultant as well. They have some at WIC.

Will wic allow you to consult with them without qualifying for wic ? Thank you for your reply!

Only switch when your baby is done eating on that side. If (s)he gets fussy on the breast then switch. Don't worry about time or anything else. I don't know if WIC will let you without qualifying. I'd assume so, but just call and ask. :) the peer counselors there were way more helpful than the lactation consultants at my hospital.
