In need of some help!
I went for my first appt today where I found out I'm having some bleeding. The dr I saw today was not very friendly and was unprofessional. I told her about my job as a home health aide where I have to lift residents everyday. She put me on a 20lb weight restriction and I explained my job title is about 75lbs of lifting. I faxed her note to my job who said that I have to be able to lift over that. My dr doesn't seem to understand that. Then she gave me some pills called diclegis for my nausea. I spoke to my pharmacist who said exactly "if you were my wife I would not allow me you to take this medication". I'm not quite sure what to do.

I've never had an issue with that obgyn office until I seen this NP. And I go back to work tomorrow. Idk if I can get them to pull me from work but they are bringing me back in in about 3 weeks for the bleeding to do another sono. My job really doesn't care if I have weight restrictions.

Diclegis is actually an FDA approved medication for nausea during pregnancy... it's the best! Your pharmacist sounds dumb.

If your doctor puts restrictions on you your job has to follow them, no if's and's or but's. If they stop giving you hours your allowed to collect unemployment and if they fire you you are allowed to sue. I went through this with my first pregnancy. Have a note from the doctor and demand a note from your job stating they won't adhere to doctor's orders. In point to your doctor though I'd ask to see another doctor in the office or go to a new office. Best of luck!

That medication is normally for those who suffer from hypermesis gravidarum (extreme nausea and other pregnancy symptoms). Many women take it. Have you had extreme nausea and salvia? There is absolutely nothing wrong with that prescription.
Now the weight thing is something you have to decide what is right. But I thought I would speak up about the medication. There is absolutely nothing wrong with it and is a life savor for those who are really suffering from extreme nausea.
