Online schooling?

Has anyone done their whole degree or certificate online? I am about to commit to online classes to get my Preschool Certificate. This is a great opportunity! But tell me about your experience? Was it hard? could you stay focused on the assignments?

Nope but I have heard sad stories about those kinds of degrees. Just find a legit school.

Thanks so much for the feedback. I will be doing them through NWTC-Green Bay. I am so excited. After I had my daughter at 18, I put off college but now I'm motivated to go back. I do have a baby on the way too. So I figured online schooling is the best way to go. I just have to really focus on it and only that.

If you are doing ECE you will likely HAVE to do a certain amount of time in the classroom with the children. When I did my BA I had almost 400 hours of student teaching to complete.

I have and will be taking online classes at a local college for fall. I absolutely love it. At the time I was a single mom and worked 3 jobs so online was the best option. It was a bit easier for me because I had every resource I needed right in front of my face at all times. No distraction from other students and the nonsensical discussions that I felt wasted valuable class time. You have to have discipline, a quiet workspace and keep an IMPECCABLE calendar for testing, group chats and assignment due dates.

GOOD LUCK!!!!! Just talking about this is making me so excited to go back! ??

I'm an online senior in college. I found a great accredited 4 year college to go through that offered a few online degrees. I was told to stay away from the commercial online schools because their degrees arnt worth much.

As for the workload, it's a lot. Because your essentially teaching yourself the material with the resources from your professor and in turn your spending a lot more time doing school work. It also can be hard to stay on track without really any motivation.

Make sure it's a reputable school cuz if not ur wasting ur money and time cuz no place will hire u with a degree from that place.

I went to a local university and online classes were way more intense. They expected way more hw and time spent on the class than actual in class ones.

I am at Penn foster. It's accredited. But I'm getting my pharmacy tech diploma which isn't needed to work in the field just be certified through the state. It is 475$

I'm starting in the fall through Penn State since they have a world campus and do online degrees through their World Campus. Please go through an accredited campus bc if you don't, you just wasted a ton of money for a fake piece of paper. Plus a lot of jobs like to see that you went through an actual university instead of the Phoenix or Devry.

I'm in the middle of getting a degree and certificate through online schooling. I don't know what your other obligations are, but I find that I have a lot of late nights, since nighttime after LO goes to bed is the best time to get work done. However, I like being responsible for my own learning, and setting and following a schedule for myself. It also allowed me to get a 1 year certificate in 6 months, since I don't have to coordinate a schedule of classes. Finishing up in June! You can do it! ??

I've completed nearly my entire degree online. I was worried that I would have trouble concentrating and staying motivated, but it hasn't been bad. The worst part about taking online classes is that there are some subjects that I would do better to have explained in person, but I have managed to figure it out so far.

I mainly take classes on campus at my university but I have had online classes.

As long as you have a set schedule or a routine that allows you to be a parent (if you have kids), have a break & of course have time to complete work and study for test or papers. It can be done if you are self motivated. Also, having a support system helps tremendously. Good luck! Happy for you!

I go online with the local University. Just make sure that the college you chose is accredited, because most of the ones who advertise are not (like Devry, University of Phoenix, etc).

Most local community colleges and universities offer online classes and degrees nowadays though. I am getting my bachelors in finance and accounting. I wouldn't cal, it hard, but you do have to be very disciplined and be able to learn on your own. You can email professors questions, but it usually takes at least a day or two to get an answer. A lot of the assignments are timed and you have to make sure you have a very stable computer and internet connection.

Also, because I'm only doing online I can't always get all the classes that I need, so it's taking me longer than usual to get my degree.

I am currently. I have 2 semester until I get my bachelors. Then 3 years or less to get my masters.

My dh goes to Phoenix university n 95% of it is done online. The other 5% he goes to class once a wk from 6-10pm. The entire time his homework consists of research papers n PowerPoint's. He's graduating next month with his BA in criminal Justice.

During the times he does his HW on the wkends n I hold down the fort at home. As long as u have a great support system at home u can def do it.
