Trunk or treat
Is it weird to take your kids to a church you don't attend? I've never done it but there's a few churches advertising for tonight and Idk if it's strange to be a stranger.

I just did it yesterday. Not weird at all.

I've done it. I think it depends on how it's advertised. The one we took our kids to sent a flyer home with the school inviting everyone of all faiths to join in on a night of fun.

Where I live it's so incredibly rural that the churches are the only places that really do any trick or treating events, and they're open to everyone.

Our church's trunk-or-treat is open to everyone.

Not weird at all. I think a church trunk or treat is way safer than letting kids go door to door.

What does trunk or treat mean?
deleted-user·
^^They are events thrown by an establishment, where people sign up to participate. They deck the trunk of their car out in a theme (usually), and then families come through to trick or treat.
Most trunk or treats are advertised to the community, not just regular attendees. I've taken my kids to lots of them. I think they're great. They usually have activities for the kids to, are safe, and they end up with a good amount of candy in a short amount of time

Depends on the church maybe? Most the ones around here put flyers up everywhere for events and anyone is welcome :)

I don't thjnk it's weird. If they advertise it it's because it's for anybody otherwise they would just advertise in church

Not weird at all - I know my church loves it when people outside our congregation attend events... it's the reason we advertise them!

Ok then, maybe we'll go!

Nope not weird. One church here does it at the mall down the street.
deleted-user·
Nope. My church does it for the whole community. Go! Have fun

No not at all. I am a member of a small church and we are so excited for all the visitors tomorrow. We expect about 300 kids and we ourselves have about only 20 total of our church kids.

We've gone to 2 this year and there were tons of people there. It wasn't weird at all!
deleted-user·
Nope! Churches want people from outside the congregation to go

Our church always encourages people to bring visitors for the harvest party, Easter party, etc. most churches love when new people come to things like that. That's why they advertise.

No that's why they do it! Lol. I have taken ds1 3 different ones the past years. We went to one tonight. It was ds2 first one and I think he liked it. ?
Edit. I grew up in church. We literally perpared it more for random kids than our own lol. Btw most don't push church on you. They do it for the kids to have a fun safe place to get candy and show off their customes.
