Blowout ? My two month old has at least one diaper blowout everyday. It gets all over his clothes, car seat, blankets…

My daughter would have a blow out daily and someone on here posted about putting your stained clothes in the sunlight. Let me tell you it works! So if your baby is breastfed and they have a blow out just rinse off the poop or if you have clothes that you already washed, wet the stains with water and lay out in the sun. The poop stain should disappear. I've tried this on several onesies and even her rocker.

For me, soaking in cold water always took out stains much better.

I'd hand wash, then soak in cold water (maybe even overnight) and them hand wash again.

My son has had dozens of blowouts and not one article of clothing has poop stains left on them.

Calm down guys, I didn't see his age in the original post. That why I said if "he's this, do that..." Obviously I wouldn't give a two month old solids. But way to jump down my throat!!

I agree with Jackattack. I needed to go up a size to prevent them. I even went to size 4 when my son was 20 lbs when it starts at 22 as he's chunky. We've still had the odd blowout but much more rare and less pee leaks too

I also agree with no solids but think the person who said that may have read 2 years or 12 months or something. ... I hope

What @kicci? please educate yourself on this subject before running around giving advice like this one ? her baby is 2 month old, giving him solid would be really unhealthy and could do a lot of damages

My first thought would be to go up a diaper size, not down

My boys had this exact problem with Huggies. I HATE them. Try another brand diaper. I love pampers and Kirkland (from Costco).

Move up a size. My daughter is 20 pounds, but wearing a 3. We have to pull the tabs over each other, but we haven't had a blowout since we switched a month ago. Don't go by weight.

Kicci that's terrible advice. Just no. Babies are supposed to have loose stools, the issue is with the diaper not the diet.

@OP please don't give him solids. He shouldn't be eating or drinking anything except formula or breast milk til AT LEAST 6 months. That includes rice cereal or oatmeal.

1) Go up a size in diaper, not down.

2) Resolve stain treatment rocks. Kicks OxiClean's butt, IMO!

3) Feed him more solids. If he's already on solids give him more cheese. Or less fruit/veggies. If he's breastfeeding, consider he might have food allergies, like lactose intolerance.

4) Try variations of #3 for at least 2-3 days at a time before you write it off....

You can always cloth diaper. Never have a single blowout with those ?

Definitely test out other diaper brands.

My son is 2 years old and i never had a blowout diaper. I was lucky i think.

My youngest had a blowout every single day until he was about 6 months. It was horrible.

The only remedy for the clothes? Blue Dawn --the original. Put it on the stain. I'd hand wash until it came out (which was almost immediately) then I'd throw them in the wash. Got every single stain out. There was no stain stick/fighter pre-treater that worked for me. Only the blue dawn. It's also gotten every single stain of food (including spaghetti sauce). The only thing it hasn't gotten out in the last 2 years was some paint that exploded on my son's shirt while he was at school. I saw it hours after it happened and I think by then it was too late. Other than that the blue Dawn has worked on everything, including poop stains.

Use Zote soap, I use it when my baby gets it all over her clothes and it comes right off, no stains, but you have to scrub and do it immediately.

Switch to pampers and *try* the next size up.

If it doesn't work, then at least you'll have the diapers when she does grow into them.

You could also try a cloth cover over the diaper to keep it snug & in place if it's too big.

Why would you go down a size?.blow outs typically happen because the diaper is too small.

My LO is wearing size 4 she's not in the "weight" group for it but she has chunky thighs and long legs so size 3 wasn't working and she was having daily blow outs

I was just going by the listed weight on the box. I haven't actually tried them. The blowouts are always up his back and they are almost immediately. When I hold him he lets out one big toot and it explodes all over. I'm going to try other brands. Thanks for the advice!

My baby always had blowouts in huggies. I hated them. Use an oxyclean stick on the poop stains.

Use dish soap for the poop stains! Throw some on the stain, scrub it in with a toothbrush, wash as usual. Also try to wash it as soon as you can, I know sometimes that's not easy :)

Huggies were the worse.

I didnt have the problems with pampers.

Also go up a size.

Try washing with peroxide!

Stains- i'm not sure. But I would suggest putting a little bit of his laundry detergent/shampoo on the stain right after and running hot water on it. Always works like a charm for me

Cvs brand is the only brand that works for us!

Try a different diaper brand. Honestly targets store brand is the only diaper that didn't leak with my daughter. Huggies leaked the worst and I still refuse to use them, she'll pee through them in mins.

Do you know they are too big because you tried them or are you assuming based on the weight limit listed on the package? I ask because we use Huggies and I found that my kid did not/does not fall into the weight guidelines. He's ready to move up sizes well before he maxes out the weight limit.

Edited to add I think he could have moved to size 3 around 3 months. He's been in size 3's for a while, definitely the longest out of any size so far.

Try other brands. Not all babies fit diapers the same. I didn't like huggies at all.

Go up a size if it's up the back. If it's out the leg holes make sure you're pulling the tabs tight enough.

Typically if the diapers are leaking its because they're too small.

DD uses huggies little snugglers not snug and dry. The snug and dry didn't hold as well
