Eastenders
I just got into a little debate about protecting your child.. If they killed someone would you help cover up and protect them if they killed someone or would you go straight to the police? Xx

For those of you saying u woyld cover ... reverse roles and imagine your the parent of a child who had been killed ... u would want them punished so why would it be different if ur child was the one who committed the crime
I think I would be tempted to cover up because of how badly child killers are treated by the system and by the media. You can imagine the Sun or whatever, printing the story :( plus prison for youngsters often results in more problems because they are not always the most appropriate places- I had an ex 'friend' who was detained as a juvenile and she learnt more about being a criminal/ drugs and sex from her time 'inside' than she would ever have done outside.
Saying that..... I want to believe in our justice system. That if you do the right thing, it reflects on the case and the outcome. Even with my 16 yo step son, we have always said that if he behaves illegally he needs to realise he needs to accept the consequences, whatever they are......
But on the other hand
Jane took it to another degree, Peter was right!! she left Lucy in the common like a sack of rubbish.
She made all the decision and left Ian in the dark and their he's blood children. She didn't even tell him and give him a chance to agree with the decision.
I couldn't say what I would do but I definitely wouldn't do that!!
I also think Bobby is 11, not 6 or 7. He's in secondary school, their treating him like a baby. I think it's ridiculous.
We can't protect our kids from everything. The whole point of being a parent is to teach them about life and be responsible . and in life you make decision your accountable for.
Poor Peter :-(
Regardless of the situation I wouldn't go to the lengths that Jane went through to "protect" my child. Living with something of that magnitude would eat away at me.
i would hand mine in. being 11 or not they should learn that actions have consequences and murder holds a big one. i dont think i could look at my child in the same way knowing they killed in cold blood it wouldnt feel right covering for them and all that teaches is no matter what i do my mum will cover for me.

Yeah Ian must be very confused (if it was real!) I hope i never get into that situation I just wanted to see everyone's views xx
I think it's really interesting too! Don't get me wrong I would do anything for my son but I just don't think I could cover it up for him especially if it was my daughter he killed! I know eastenders isn't real but it's such a sad storyline how Ian must be feeling x
Even though it would be one of the most difficult things to do in the world, I would turn my child in, just to protect my other children and family because you don't know who might be next. I would still support my child and get him as much help as possible.
I think I would have to be in that situation first(and hope I never am) before I can say what I would do?
This is a hard one !! I want to protect my son and daughter from everything but I do think that if they do something wrong then they should face the consequences and will be taught that with every action you take it comes with consequences. And murder is still murder, like if some other person had murdered one of mine and I'd found out the mother had not gone to the police when she knew I think I'd be very angry and upset.
Really great question !

I honestly didn't wanna cause an argument I just wanted to see everyone views... Everyone is gonna have different views on this kind of topic, but I don't want it causing any kind of bad atmosphere. Xx
I'm not saying anybody was arguing I said it will probably cause arguments
Ok I think this probably needs to stop now because this is going to go too far. Nobody is covering up any bodies murder (as far as we know) it was a simple debate she started but I think it will end up causing arguments because it's such a strong debate x

I definitely see it from both parts. Xx

& your right I did say exactly that, but no one knows if she turned her back on him for anyone knows she stuck by him! Xx

That's a hard one I guess I'm not saying I'm right in what I'm saying and I don't wanna cause an argument I was just asking people's views. Xx

I can see it from both parts and to be honest unless your in that situation at the time you can never know what to do, but I think I would always protect my son no matter what! Yeah I understand you have to teach right from wrong but sometimes no matter if you bring them up the right way they can still turn out bad. I just wanted to see everyone's views xx
They need teaching right from wrong but it wouldnt be easy x

I get what you mean grace but I dunno I think I'd always stick by my son no matter what I know it's wrong but he's my child xxx
The thing is Lucy was as much her daughter as he was her son...and to put her in the boot of the car and drag her to leave her dead and alone on a common...I just don't know x
Don't forget you too can get prosecuted if you help cover up a murder? What good is everyone in jail? Your family totally ripped apart? x

I'm glad it's not just me I was saying to my partner and my sister in law that I would 100% cover for my son no matter what! Xxx
I'd make him get in the car and id drive him to the station and he would tell the police what he did. My boys will be brought up right and to know that if they are to do something so bad then they will have to live with the punishment that comes with it. I love them to bits and I'd still love them but I would not cover for them or let them get away with it. X
I'd protect my children no matter what xx
I'll probz get hated on for this but I would cover it up. I would do anything to protect him x
others baby wearing Do you (or would you) allow someone else to wear your baby?
What would you do with $25,000 If you received an extra $25,000. What would you do with it? ?
@ksmommyx3, I have a “would you rather” for you. Would you rather kill a dog or cheat on your spouse? And it’s from a movie so don’t kill the messenger lol.
Why would someone give you money ? Without knowing you
If someone had an ugly baby and asked you if you thought they were cute would you lie or tell the truth?

My step dad's family went through this at one point before he was born he's 52, his older brother who was about 5 was pushing his sister on a cart who was 2, she fell off and hit her head and died, the family never covered anything up and his brother grew up knowing he killed his little sister. I never met them but he's also dead now and I've never found out what happened to him, my step dad rarely talks about his older siblings that are now dead only his brothers that are still alive, it's a horrible situation to be in knowing one of your children has killed another one of your children and I don't think anyone can say what they would do in that situation but to me I could never forget if that happened.
