Asking visitors to call before coming over?

Asking visitors to call before coming over?

Am I being ridiculous in not opening the door if I'm not expecting anyone? The issue is mainly my in laws, we live 2 doors down from them which is an issue we need to fix when we can afford to move. My MIL and me do not get along, she has made obnoxious, snarky comments to me since our son was born and I'm over it and done being bullied by her. She gives me anxiety and just being around her sucks the positive energy right out of me. I'm 6 weeks pregnant with our second (she doesn't know because she's nosy and would tell everyone when we want to wait til the 1st trimester is over) I'm crazy emotional and she doesn't call when she wants to come see our son. I'm pretty sure she knocked on our door today shortly after we got home but I totally took the baby and hid. The barking dog and my rig out front were proof I'm home, but I'm done with her making me feel inferior to her. My husband sides with me and has let his mom know that she's not going to drive a wedge between us, when she accuses me of coming between her and her son, and how he started acting like an a-hole when we got together. She has a thousand excuses for her behavior, none of which are her fault. I will deal with her only when I have to and when my husband is around.

My MIL gives me horrible anxiety also. I would never see her without my husband, it's bad enough even with him around. I'm sorry you live so close to her, that has to be really hard.

Isn't it common courtesy to call before going to someone's house? I would be pissed and totally would do the same thing you did

I wouldn't answer the door either. My best friends mother in law is a nightmare and she finally had to set boundaries her husband has to be home or else she can't stop by.

I don't answer the door either unless I'm expecting a visit. She needs to respect your privacy.

Keep her out and away until she gets the hint to back off

Girl no im the same way. she sounds so annoying. If people can't respect what u ask in ur home then they just shouldn't come. I think that's a common courtesy anyway. Pregnant or not there's some days that people just don't want to be bothered.

Locking your doors We are having a discussion on one of my birth boards from my older kids about locking doors and security alarms. There are many of us (me included) who do not lock our doors at home (I actually don't even have a deadbolt on my house and we don't lock it when we leave either), and others who think that's totally weird. So what do you do? Do you lock your doors? Do you think it's weird that people don't?

Yesterday I went out with my boyfriend went to watch a movie, me and him don't live together yet. but point is yesterday when he was dropping me off his like sleep over at my house witch the mom and dad lives. I said no, his response was why is everyone deciding or making choices for you and their going to do the same with the baby, when I know that's not true. what he thinks is that my mom tells me not to sleep over. So he left all mad. and I felt in my heart that he went on and cheated on me and did something else with an other girl.... and it's 10:51 am now and he hasn't texted me at all. and after he dropped me off I texted him saying what I felt and nothing. I don't know if I'm over reacting or what or what should i do. do i wait until he text me?

So this morning my fiancé and me went to my folks for Christmas. On our way there we had to stop at his ex fiancé house to drop off an ornament we found of hers when we were setting up our tree. I was upset because I really didn't want to see her especially on our first Christmas being engaged and our daughters first Christmas because she has been mean about me in the past. Now I come to find out that she has been asking him about our daughter and stuff like that. Do I have a right to be upset or no??
