I just found out my husband didn't come up with his half of the rent and I was served an eviction notice today. We have 5 days to find a way to pay and 10 days to move out. Rent was due yesterday. If I can't figure this out my parents are going to book me a greyhound to move back to medicine hat with my daughter. Its an 8 hour ride. Its going to be extremely difficult as I'll have to leave lots of my belongings behind and will be starting from scratch completely. I'm going to be bringing more of my daughter's stuff than mine because I don't want her to have nothing. We will be leaving our entire lives behind and starting from nothing. I'm really glad my parents were here when I got the notice. They told me they will help me get back and get whatever me and my daughter need. I told them I'll pay whatever I can for rent until I get on my feet but I'm not sure they will charge me anything because I'll have to use my child tax to pay them and they would rather that money go to the things my daughter needs. Its going to be hard but I'm sure we will make it.

Doesn't matter if you think it's best. Follow your moms advice and get the temporary custody in order so he can't say you just took her. Have you tried contacting him? Perhaps he has the money and just hasn't paid it yet. It's only the 3rd. Not saying you should stay but if he has the money then you don't need to rush off leaving your belongings and you can take some time to plan the move back to your parents house.
He won't try to stop us from going or anything. There's not a risk of having it seem as kidnapping. I won't have time to have anything done with the courts. If there becomes a need for custody arrangements then we will do it when that time comes.
@fluffy. Yes but now she's unable to and won't be able to come get me because of childcare. She's got 3 kids. The oldest turned 4 yesterday and the other 2 are 2 years old and 6 months old. Its not the easiest drive to make and she won't be able to make it with her 3 kids.
He won't be moving with me. Just me and my daughter. We have separated and were paying equal bills but that's clearly not working so I'm leaving and making sure my daughter and I have a stable life since he clearly can't be held accountable for anything. My mother was here this morning when I got the notice. She's a lot more harsh than I am. She told me to go get custody papers and have them ready on the coffee table along with my bus schedule when he gets home. I don't see the need for custody papers because if its what's best for our daughter he will let us go.
I am not off of my gdl yet. You must be off of your gdl to rent one. I've looked into it. My parents are going to the states for the rest of their vacation but won't be able to come back through here and drive back with a uhaul. Greyhound is our only affordable option.
Our notice gives us 5 days to pay rent or dispute it. If we don't have it paid in that time frame we have 10 days from the day the notice was given to move out.
If we figured this out I'm sure it would be okay. I just can't rely on him. I have no idea why he didn't pay his portion of it and I'm not sure I want to stick around and have this continue to happen. I want to be able to wake up every morning not wondering if I'll have a place to live tomorrow.
You need a special license to drive a uhaul truck? We don't need that in the US. And also, I'm not sure how it works in Canada but if you are late on rent here usually the landlord serves you a "5-day pay or quit" notice. Basically from the time the 5 day notice is served you have 5 days to pay the rent, otherwise the eviction proceedings begin.
So I'm not understanding your notice? You have 5 days to pay rent and 10 days to move out? So even if you paid the rent within the 5 days you still have to leave in 10 days? What happens if you don't pay the rent in the 5 days?
A u haul is way more expensive for a 9 hour trip and I don't have a proper license to use one. It's going to be me and my daughter. No-one else. My parents don't have a lot of money as it is so them doing this for me is a lot already.

Transgender children
So I just learned that in my kids school district (my kids aren't in school yet my oldest will be starting kindergarten next September) there are twin boys who identify as girls. They are 5 years old. What's your opinions on this matter given they are 5!!! I don't believe that at that age they really understand the whole thing. My friend posted this on facebook last night and said her kids were asleep within minutes. It's a song that scientists created to help people fall asleep. I was skeptical but I thought what the hay, I'll try it out. I didn't bank on Dh falling asleep, but both him and lo were asleep by minute 2. And lo slept six straight hours. ?

I had a stillborn daughter at 38 weeks this passed Nov. This is my second month ttc. (Last month we only tried for like two weeks though). My last and only pregnancy, I got pregnant the first month of ttc so I hope it's quick this time again.
Why Are Many Women Unaware of Their Own Anatomy?
the amount of women who are clueless about their own anatomy is so sad and shocking. a lot of the women are older than me and have more children then I do 😳
now I understand that everyone has their own opinion on the topic and grown adults can do whatever they want with their bodies but to deny facts and make up false statements about your own anatomy when it comes to your unborn child is just so disappointing.

I think if you're going to go through with this, then you should look into getting the custody papers. You never really know if he's going to fight you on taking your daughter with you until it happens. Best to be prepared.
