I was moving my finger around it in my first couple tries. It felt open but kind of squished if that makes sense. I tried pushing on the walls and everything. So far my last try seems to be working. I've not had any cervix issues. I'm going to the lake so I'm keeping it in for sure until then and if I notice any leakage in just going to swap it out for a tampon and call it a day. Tampons are a hassle. They irritate and hurt and I have to change them every 1.5-2 hours. I'm really determined to have this cup thing work for me. I don't care if I end up with every cup on the market in order to find a proper fit. With tampons I eventually get so swollen to the point where do can no longer get them in and I have to use a pad. Pads are the most disgusting thing ever to me. ??
To get it to pop open, stick a finger up there with it and move your finger in a circle around the rim of the cup. You might not feel it actually pop open. But you'll be able to tell by tracing around it on the inside if it is open all the way.
As far as different shaped cups, there are thinner or wider ones, and shorter ones. The diva cup is one of the longest cups there is. There is also an almost completely circular cup called the femmy cycle.
Picking the right shape in my experience really depends on if you have a high or low cervix. Mine is low and the diva cup didn't work for me at all, even with the stem cut off completely. If yours is low I'd recommend the meluna shorty cup. It's also more firm than the diva cup so popping it open is much easier
If there's a cup with a different shape that might fit a little better I would love to know. I'm persistent so I won't give up on it knowing how awful my other options are.
Well I put it in. The lady problem I was having was mild irritation from a lady business wipe because I am sensitive down there. I thought that would make insertion ridiculously uncomfortable. I've been back and forth to the bathroom cause of leakage. The last time I went in I was starting to remove it but I felt it fill with air so I pushed it back up in hopes that was all it needed. I don't think I've leaked yet and it's been probably 15 minutes. It said to turn it in there and I should feel a pop but I haven't aside from it filling with air when it was half way out of my lady business. Tampons irritate me and become really painful and pads feel really gross and I'm a germaphobe so I am hoping I figure all of this out and I'm able to use it with little issues. In not sure if it sealed properly after removing it halfway and pushing it back into place though. If you have any magical tips then I sure could use them. I'm a very open person so tmi is not a problem for me. ?
Well. Its been quite a few hours since my last try at inserting it. So far so good. I'm nervous to see what kind of mess is in the cup as I've not used something along these lines before. I don't feel it or anything. Its pretty nice. I've been climbing baby gates getting in my big pickup with no foot rails and walking around. (Climbing baby gates and no foot rails is a lot of leg lifting cause I'm only 5'2".) Hopefully I've found "my way" of putting it in.
