I never knew there would be a word for painful ovulation. But I can always tell. I don't monitor it or anything but there's drastic changes that lets me know when I'm ovulating. Today I was really cramping. More so on my right than on my left. It's like my ovulation and period switched sides. One got way better than it was and the other one got way worse. I was miserable today.

Yes! I've always had extremely painful periods (endometriosis) but after I had children I started having middleschmertz (sp) - very painful ovulation. I get horrible cramps, twinges, backaches, headaches and mood swings. Basically exactly like a period without bleeding. I would see a doctor just to be safe--my doc said what I'm experiencing is normal.

I used to have painful periods before ha king children because I have endometriosus (SPL?) It hasn't come back since having my first child. Also after having my first I can now feel when I ovulate and which side its on

I had the period changes but not the ovulation changes. I've never known when I'm ovulating (no cramping or anything and I don't pay much attention to my cm as I'm not or never have ttc) and I still don't know. I used to have the worst periods, lasted a full 7 days, heaving bleeding, debilitating cramps, and my back would be on fire. Since having my son, they last 2-3 days, light enough to hardly call a period, and not a single cramp or backache!
