pregnancy after emergency section

Anyone get pregnant less than a year after having an emergency section? Were there any major complications?

Комментарии

Even getting pregnant so quick after a c section it's still extremely rare for a uterine rupture to happen y'all....calm down

Luna- okay we get it. It doesn't mean she can't have a normal pregnancy. I had an emergency c section and 3 months later got pregnant, I've known a ton of people get pregnant within that year and have NORMAL pregnancies. She's not being selfish if that's what SHE wants, Op know the risks and do some research. Everyone is different

Not trying to be snarky, but seriously, you could die. If your uterus rips open you'll have severe internal bleeding, resulting in almost instant death. Even if you were in the hospital they might not be able to save you, and definitely wouldn't be able to save the baby. Your doctor should've talked to you about all this and given you birth control, mine was extremely clear about the risks about getting pregnant too early, thus why I assumed you were ignoring your doctor's orders

I had a c section December 4th and got pregnant in August then had another c section last month on the 18th. I was due in May but had my baby early. I healed better this time then my other 2 times this was my 3rd and final c section .

I had a gallbladder removal so it's 4 little incisions on my abdomen.

If your uterus ruptures you and baby could die.

When I was attempting a VBAC and the labour started going too long the dr said I have to have another c-section. I was clearly upset about it because I really thought that it was going to happen the way I wanted that time. The dr flat out said if your uterus ruptures because of the previous incision there is a big chance you and baby could die.

I've been very lucky in that mine have all been close together and I healed well. May I ask why you had to have another abdominal surgery?

Since you just had 2surgeries I definitely think you need to wait.

@Luna -- Obviously I'm taking my health into consideration. Reckless behavior would be if I didn't consult a doctor or anything and went at it. I'm not having one right away. Keep in mind my husband is out of town months at a time. I'll see him maybe twice between now and when my daughter is 6 months. Everybody risks things when getting pregnant end of story. I just wanted to know how much higher my risks are having had a section. I was not told much after it. There's at least 2 months before we jump on the baby train and I am consulting my doctor first. There's really no need to be snarky when I'm asking a genuine question here. You want to be snarky I'm sure there's tons of other moms out there that you can get into it with. I was not very educated on what risks are involved with a pregnancy after section. I heard something about uterine rupturing through the grapevine and I'm not entirely sure how terrible that is either. Thanks.

I had an emergency c section last February and I'm pregnant again all I know is they did tell me that I absolutely have to have another c section I can't try for vbac

I don't know your situation, but I was literally told, as they were wheeling me out of the OR, that if I get pregnant within 2 years of my C-section, that I could die, or at the very least, be put on bed rest for at least half of my pregnancy. Now, I'm sure it's not that dramatic for most people, but honestly, you have had major surgery. Not once, but twice. You need to let your body heal! I won't go as far as to call it selfish, but you desperately need to consider your health when making this decision.

My Dr told me to wait 6mos. I agree to listen to your dr and just because you struggled the first time you might not the second time (It took 3 yrs to have ds and 2 mcs, after ds I got pg twice in the same year). However calling her reckless and selfish imo is harsh and uncalled for. She is asking people for their experiences and for advise it's not like you caught her mid baby making session ?. So yes better to consult with your dr.

So basically you had abdominal surgery 2 months ago? Honestly it's selfish to try to get pregnant this soon, what if your uterus ruptured and you died? You can't just assume you won't get pregnant for years, because what if you do get pregnant right away? You said you had two miscarriages, that means you've been pregnant 3 times. I wouldn't be counting on not getting pregnant for years, and it's not like trying early will increase your chances of getting pregnant in a year vs two years. I think what you're doing is reckless and dangerous, and your doctor probably will too

I also had another abdominal surgery 2 months after my section.

Yeah. Chances of pregnancy right now are extremely extremely slim cause he's gone months at a time. I don't ovulate when I'm supposed to either. Of we start trying after a year or could take another 2 or 3 years. I have a doctor's appointment booked to see what my doctor says. I wasn't even supposed to be able to get pregnant with my daughter so we don't want to chance having them super far apart.

Luna is right. I know how you feel (I want another so bad but lo is only 11months) but you have to take care of yourself too. You're opening yourself up to getting pregnant way too soon plus complications. My doctor advised 18 months so I'm waiting. I can't leave my son without a mother because I wanted him to have a sibling close in age. They'll still be close...just not Irish twins close.

Every pregnancy is different, talk to your doctor and if you aren't satisfied, get other opinions. But they're going to tell you you need to let your body heal.

I got pregnant about 11 months after an emergency csection. I was having other medical issues at the time so they were the focus of my doctors. I don't think she was really concerned with the timing as far as the csection aspect but it definitely isn't the best time.

My second csection went perfectly though.

What did your doctor say? That's what's most important. 4 months is WAY too early in my opinion, my doctor said not to get pregnant again for year. I think risking a uterine rupture just to have kids close in age is very reckless

I did! 9mos post emergency csec. Unfortunately it ended up being an ectopic pg but I don't think it had nothing to do with my csection. I lost a tube but got pg 3 months after that surgery. My pregnancy thank God has been smooth so far! I'm due May 18th.

Mine went perfectly. Healthy pregnancy and easy C. I will say having two under two is very hard! I love my girls though, and couldn't imagine them both not being here

Okay. I'm just concerned about uterine rupturing. My husband wants our children close and we don't know how long it'll take for me to get pregnant again so we've decided to start trying again. Our daughter is 4 months old. I may not even get pregnant til after a year has past as it took 2 years with 2 early mc's to make our rainbow. I just wanna know that people have done it without massive complications. My pregnancy with my daughter was really uncomfortable and painful so I'm preparing myself for the worst. ?

My dd just turned 8 months old on the 20th and I'm currently 31 weeks pregnant. So far no complications from the emergency c section. It was my second emergency c section too. But no abnormal issues that I didn't already have (spontaneous preterm labor due to short cervix). Dr said I should be fine and I can attempt a vbac since I've had a successful vaginal delivery before

It's not recommended but I have and I haven't had any complications so far aside from 1 failed VBAC attempt and 2 more planned sections instead of vaginal births. No complications during the pregnancies though.

2nd pregnancy was 13mo after 1st born. 3rd pregnancy was 5months after 2nd was born and 4th pregnancy was 9months after 3rd was born.

I have been very lucky in that I healed very well after each.

ETA the pregnancy that was only 5months after my 2nd was born was awful and painful but there were no medical complications and I was not considered high risk at all. It was just super uncomfortable and I was miserable.

Me. I had an emergency csection in December of 2013 and I got pregnant in October of 2014, I had a successful VBAC with no complications. My pregnancy was great other than some unexplained bleeding around 7 weeks, other than that it was ideal.

I did and nope went through a second c section and everything was great

Edit . Just the recovery was a little harder but not too bad

I got pregnant 11mo after my emergency section. I attempted a vbac and ended up with a repeat. I haven't had my pp appointment yet but the surgeon as who performed my repeat said I have a "paper thin" uterus and I will be advised to not have more children. That is just my experience though.
