separation anxiety.

Any mommas have severe separation anxiety with their littles? I have an extremely hard time being away from her at all. Its to the point where I don't even like going to the store quick without her. I'm trying to figure out how to solve this issue. Any ideas? Would a psychiatrist or therapist help? Idk what to do about it. It got really bad after my 4 day stay in the hospital. I feel like I never want to leave her side ever again.

Don't let them make you feel bad....

It's normal, some women are fine and leave there baby without any trouble, then there are some moms that are more instinctual that can't leave there baby, it's instinct to keep your baby close to protect them from danger( predators )

I'm the same way, I don't like leaving my son( who'll be a yr in 5 days) I can only leave him with my DH longest I've left him is an hr for my massage appointment.

But I trust my husband to take excellent care of our son, an he fallows my rules for my sons care... But anyone else no way in hell....

There's nothing wrong with you at all, your the mom and it's your responsibility...

Don't let anyone make you feel like it's wrong, and you can't spoil a baby, you do what you feel comfortable with, if anyone has a problem with it, tough titty for them, your baby , you'll raise her how you see fit....

@mommytobe I've stopped taking showers alone. If she is in with me I know she's safe. I can't hear her if I'm in the shower and our bathroom is too small for her to hang out in it with me.

I had severe separation anxiety from my son when he was born. He's 6 months now and so far, the most I can do is take a quick shower without him, so I'm following for advice!

I think it's part of being a mom! You miss them when they aren't with you. 3 mos is still quite young it's not like she's 8 and you won't let her go play outside. It's not unhealthy unless you feel like it is in my opinion.

On that note I did go to therapy when he was oh around 6 mos old or so. It didn't feel healthy to me at that point for myself. If I went to the store and left him with my husband, I would have full blown panic attacks in the parking lot. Just sobbing and shaking. What if he wanted me? Did he think I abandoned him? What if he cried and no one tended to him? What if what if what if? At that point I decided to get some help and I'm not embarrassed about it at all. It helped a lot, I figured out the reasons why it was so hard for me to let him out of my sight and I got to the point where I could go for and hour and function. I still missed him and worried but I wasn't having epic meltdowns. He's 2 now and I still miss him like crazy when I'm gone even for that amount of time, but I don't feel anxious at all anymore. Probably because he's bigger and I know he's having fun and enjoys having other people around now that his world doesn't revolve around mommy 24/7. He can grab a snack if he's hungry and communicate his needs somewhat. So I know he's ok. Take the time you need and if you feel like it's causing a problem in your life there is nothing wrong with seeking help for that. Best of luck!

My daughter is 3 and I still have this problem! I'm a stay at home mom the only time I feel okay with her being away for a few hours is with my parents! I think that's just how moms feel some of us get to have that choice to be around 24/7 and some have to go to work ect. I say enjoy your time with her!! Your not a bad mom or doing anything wrong by wanting to be with your daughter all the time!!

My first DD is 2 1/2 and still hasn't left me,except for one time when we had to move late at night and the only thing that comforted me was knowing she would be asleep the whole time. My second daughter is 11 months and I haven't left her once. I get really bad anxiety knowing that anyone that would have her wouldn't be able to care for her the way I do. My MIL thinks she can do whatever she wants and is disrespectful so I will be keeping my girls as long as I feel they are old enough to somewhat care for themselves and won't be a totally different person when they get back. People always have something to say especially family, but we as mom's know what is best for our little ones.

ETA: your little one is still very young, you are not spoiling her. You do what you are comfortable with.

At 3 months old I didn't want to be away from my dd either. Now she's 11 months and I will go to Costco without her but that's about it. We are both pretty attached to each other still. She's happy and I'm happy, that's all I care about.

You can't spoil a 3 month old. Enjoy every minute you have with her as a baby. They really do grow so fast xx

Everyone around me is making me feel like it's an unhealthy attachment. I'm very attached to my daughter and I do feel like No one is as capable as I am to know what she needs. When my daughter was born she saved me. I feel better when I am around her but it is making it difficult for me because I do need to get out and do things here and there. I just feel like I need her around me. I'll have to book an appointment with my doctor and see if he can point me in the right direction.

Maybe it's just too soon for you to be apart, and that's okay. My son is with me all the time, he naps on me, sleeps in bed with me at night and is with me all day. It's just become normal to me.

If you feel like it's too much you should talk to your doctor, postpartum anxiety is very real.

She's upstairs sleeping in her crib and I feel like waking her. Or at least bringing her down here with me. We went to a birthday party at our friends last weekend and she spent the night at another friends so we could drink and I had several panic atracks. Spent most of the night in tears. It's really taking a toll on me.

My son is almost 8 months and I feel this way. It starts to get better with time. I think it's normal to feel that way though.

She's 3 months and it keeps getting worse. My family is judging me telling me I'm spoiling her and that I need the time away. She literally spent over 9 months attached to me. I'm not doing so good with her being on the outside. No One knows how to care for her like I do. I know to some extent I need help but I don't know where to start. I might bring it up to my family doctor and see if he can point me in the right direction. I don't even like leaving her with my husband. It sounds bad but I feel strange when I'm not with her.

I know how you feel, after my son had a hospital stay, I didn't want to be away either.

I started small, step outside for 5 minutes while DH was with him and gradually increase the time and distance away. So far DS is 18 months and I am able to drop him off with my FIL, for my DR appointments.

It's tough but it gets easier, good Luck!

So idk if I’m an asshole for thinking this but a girl I used to go to school with is having her 3rd kid and she’s planning a baby shower and she had one with her other two. I feel like a baby shower is something you do with ur first pregnancy. I live far from my family so I didn’t have one but i did have a baby registry and I’m not even doing that with this pregnancy. Idk I just feel like 3 baby showers is a lot! Especially when she gets things handed to her. Idk maybe I’m an ass for thinking that
