high reading after usual breakfast
I got a 144 today after breakfast and didn't eat anything different? I waa up most of the night for bathroom breaks and hip pain. Could being tired and eating a little later than usual cause that? My fasting was 80. I'm really discouraged. I'm usually 90-110 after breakfast.
That is exactly my fear that I've already caused damage to my baby without even knowing....I was eating a lot of carbs (bread & crackers)& fruits since it was the only thing that didn't make me sick... my so called "morning sickness" is through out my pregnancy I even have to take meds for it to try to control it. Ugh hopefully the specialist can clear my mind this week. :/
I'm afraid too that maybe I had it even early on in pregnancy and it can hurt the baby. I ate extremely recklessly.
I agree it is frustrating .. It took me a week and a half to regulate my fasting numbers a week ago.. For some reason it just spiked up out of nowhere .. I'm so afraid that the further along I go the harder it'll be and more problems will arise (I hope not).. So far I only need insulin at night but I'm 23.4 weeks pregnant and I really need to be 100% on top of what I eat (like everyone else I also have cravings and do indulge once in a while).. Just hate when my numbers are out of range and I actually eat healthy and do well.. we just have to remember it isn't our fault, and try to do the best possible for our little ones health and ours as well! Good luck ladies!
You girls are so right it is frustrating and at times unfair.... I too blamed myself but with the help of this blog I now know it's not my fault or yours... And you are right GD does not discriminate it doesn't matter how big or small or fit or unfit you were prior or after your pregnancy. But what you can control is how you take care of yourself now and by following Dr's orders. I have to say this blog has been a HUGE HELP for me that didn't know one thing about diabetes. Eventhough my daddy is type 2 and so was his father. It's good to know we are not alone!!
Yes, I'll admit it would be hard to motivate myself if it weren't for my baby. He's my #1 priority.
I was the picture of health before getting pregnant. Proves how strong family history can be. Then i let cravings get the best of me and I have so much guilt for that. I was eating huge portions at meals, ice cream every night, etc. I figured if my weight was on track I was fine. Boy was I wrong.
Yes it is very frustrating but I've come to deal with it to make sure my daughter is healthy & I'm able to be here for her. Its very complicated & hard to get used to especially for someone like me who has been so used to certain things for 29 years. Lol. Its a time taking process that we all have questions about.
I've been having similar results & my breakfast has been the same thing since I finally got my diet under control. Along with my after lunch checks. My Dr said if ur not feeling good ur sugars can go crazy but that doesn't explain why certain times r in the range they want my sugars in & other times its high. Plus I'm a lil over 37 weeks pregnant
As long as you correct it now baby will be fine your dietitian along with your ob will figure out what is best for you
