baths

I am addicted to hot baths. I am always cold and they make me feel so good. I know youre not supposed to take them during pregnancy but I have been taking them in a way I hope doesn't hurt the baby: I dont plug the drain, just let the hot (pretty hot, hot enough to make my skin pink) water run over my arms and legs. The most I sit in is a few inches. I also leave my bathroom door open to not get overheated. Does this sound dangerous? I'm scared I've done some kind of damage to my baby. Oh, and I'm 22 weeks. I never took a bath in,first tri.

My Dr told me I can take baths, just not in a hot tub that keeps a consistent heat. I would be lost with out my baths!!!

What you are describing sounds okay to me. I think the primary concern is not to overheat your core temperature and overheat the baby. I think just a few inches of water should be just fine. I love baths as well, but I am refraining until I'm through my first trimester also. I am meeting my bath needs by plugging the tub and running the shower with a shower head on full blast. Not as good as a bath but it helps my back and my cold cold feet.

I do the same thing. I'm always freezing and the bath warms me up and makes my body ache less. I'm almost 28 weeks and baby is doing great.

Baths are okay but the key is to not raise your core body temperature.

You can take baths. Just not "hot tub" hot. Or really hot.

It might sound like a silly question, bit I qm a ftm even though I'm 35. I also like this board best because I dont feel like it is as judgemental as some of the others. Lol
