My son grunts all the time and clears his throat. Had me thinking it wasn't normal for a while until I got the hang of it :/

My baby does that bc we swaddle her with her arms tucked in and she grunts and squirms as she tries to break free. I usually find her in the morning with at least one of her hands out.

Haha yes! My son makes all kinds of noises in his sleep. I was trying to explain to my husband that yes he is sleeping but I am not because he doesn't wake up as he sleeps like the dead.

Oh my goodness yes!! Some the noises he makes are crazy. It definitely makes sleeping hard and then when he's quiet I freak out that he's not making noise ?

Oh yes we have a squirmer. He tries to break free from the swaddle. He also grunts every time he has to fart or poop. I just have him sleep next to hubbys side who is immune to the sounds.

Try using a white noise machine or like ocean waves - it will help them sleep and drown out some of the sounds for you

Haha what is with the daddys being able to sleep throw every thing? I wake up with the tiniest sounds she makes.

I'm not sure if this is true but according to Sheldon on The Big Bang Theory women's brains are mapped to respond to baby sounds. I'm starting to think that's accurate. I had to shake my husband awake after his alarm was going off for 5 minutes, which was next to his head. ?

My little one makes a bunch of noise too! Usually when he's in REM sleep. But I'm such a light sleeper and I'm constantly waking up to his noises

We put youtube on our phones and let them play all night. Womb sounds, shhh sounds, running water sounds....all those help her sleep but if you find one loud enough, it will help drown out the grunts. And as a bonus, the womb sounds or running water is VERY peaceful to fall asleep to. I cant sleep now without the sounds!!!

@may- and this is working for you? Do you play it until she's sleeping or all night?

We used to play the 90 minute version of "womb sounds"....but every time it ended she would fuss a bit and we would have to get up and replay it. So we found an 8 hour version and it plays all night long. We set our phone on a stand next to her bassinet. We rotate phones too, in the event the phone dies lol

When she gets up for her night feeding, we will take our phone while its still playing, and do the feeding, burping, and put her back to sleep. We only do this at bedtime. Not for naps. Sometimes she gets fussy around 7 or 8pm and it's hard to get her down for a nap...we may have used it then lol!!

This works great for us. No complaints, and we will continue to do this as long as we can!! I can post the link of the 8 hr video we use, if you would like!

My little guy is so loud! I wear earplugs because Daddy's cpap machine drives me crazy, plus we have a white noise machine, and I can still hear him! ?

Ok I looked up the womb sounds video...I'll try this at night, hopefully gets her sleeping in bassinet. She's always grunting at least a half hour-40 minutes before she wakes to nurse. I know it's cute those little squeaks and grunts and stretches but it accounts for taking some of my precious sleep time. Lol

Try the sound sleeper app it has womb sounds, vacuum and other sounds. The baby photog at the hospital told me about it and I had to use it the other day when my 1 week old started to scream his head off in the car and it instantly calmed him. It's the app with a pacifier pic.
