C-Section ladies

How are you feeling? What are you doing to help with recovery? How many days are you into recovery and what are you able to do? Able to walk daily? Running errands?

Комментарии

I'm 8 days post emergency csection, sil came over to help out so does most housework and watching my 16 month old daughter during the day. I have washed bottles and dishes, mopped floors, donena load of laundry and hung some washing but thats pretty much it.

1st day felt sore and swollen but 4th day felt better after getting a traditional postnatal massage and i've been walking fine. I still make sure to get up slowly. Its such a pain not being ablebto carry your toddler.

19 days pp. Had my first c-section with my twins girls. They were breeched. I was a bit bummed about it, but I've coped with it and am happy that I got it. I was able to have a fibroid, that the doctor said would've cause me to have a hysterectomy, removed. The first day and a half after surgery wasn't so bad, the effects of the oxy was still present. On day 3, going to the bathroom to urinate was a task in itself. The gas pains were worse than the incision. The nurse gave me a Suppository. Which I took twice. It helped with the gas pains tremendously. I took 1 dose of percocet and it did nothing to relieve my pain. The only other meds that I took while at the hospital was motrin. Taking hot showers, walking and drinking hot tea helped me a great deal with the gas pains.

When I came home on day 4, I just tried to walk as much as I could tolerate. The first couple of days were tough, especially getting in and out of bed. I ended up sleeping on the couch. My husband, mom and 2 year old have been a blessing during these times. I felt much better after the first week of being home and today, other than the tender and sometimes burning feeling that I feel along my incision, I feel as if I'm almost back to my "normal" self. Today was my first day of driving again...and it was good.

Day 8. Haven't left the house. Walking from room to room. Feeling a bit better everyday. Still on pain meds. Feel better in the morning than in the evenings. I am trying to sit up and move around as much as possible. Best thing for me is to stay on top of my pain meds. If I go too long and let them wear off, the pain is much more difficult to get back under control so I take my meds every 4 to 6 hours.

@jennabear I had vomiting after surgery too. I was told they forgot to give me antinausea medicines. I was throwing up in one of those plastic bins all while family members came to visit. They finally had to give me Zofran through my IV two times cause the nausea didn't go away right away. ☹️ This is the first c-section I had that happen. My other two, I didn't feel sick at all.

@ Jenna bear- 8 hours of vomiting jeepers poor you. I was sick for a while but not that long, why do we get sick? Do you know? I was really out of it this time around!!

I'm 8 days post partum and feeling ok. The first few days were the hardest. I had 8 hours of vomiting after my c-section, a spinal headache and blood patch the next day, went home on the next day then the spinal headache came back and lasted another 3 days... I was able to go to my son's last day of preschool at 3 days pp and a field trip to Chuck E. Cheese 4 days pp without any issues other than my headache. Going 5o the bathroom has been the most uncomfortable and painful bit for me though.

@mrsfigs- for sure I know what you mean about not knowing all the details. I was told I had one of the best surgeons so I'm guessing it's just my body's reaction. Although my husband said he was super quick getting baby out and getting me stitched up. Anyways it is what it is I guess, trying to stay positive and not get worried over it healing the right way. Definitely not going to google hematoma again, it terrified me.

I hate you google-you can be so negative!! ?

I had a lot of tugging too Shari but no major bruising. I'm so sorry! I knew the scrub tech who assisted my surgery and she actually pulled Jude's head out. She also mentioned that the surgeon made the incision in my uterus very small. She said a few other things I could've lived without knowing ?

Frig.....I just seen my lower tummy for the first time since surgery....it's bruised black and purple and also have hematoma....what the heck did my surgeon do. It's probably why I was so sick afterwards, maybe from trauma to my stomache. I never experienced any issues like this before with my other sections. It's really kinda scary. I wonder if it's just my bodies reaction or the doctor pulling and tugging so hard. There was so much tugging this time that I was alarmed by it. Huh gosh

Wishing all you ladies a healthy speedy recovery I can't even imagine how hard it must be for some of you

Had my second csection 4 weeks ago and I'm doing great. I was off my pain meds before 2 weeks postpartum and I'm not up and about like nothing even happened. My scar is looking great.

@May girl I had sex already as soon as my bleeding stopped a week ago

I had my c-section 5/5 and I'll be the odd one and say that I've been taking my pain pills this whole time. I'm off the Percocet but still taking the Motrin.

I almost didn't get released from the hospital after two days because they said my hemoglobin was very low. I'm taking iron pills and stool softeners too.

I wake up with pain my right side right above my incision. Going to ask doctor about it on Friday. I am doing regular house work, not really cooking since I got my two other kids to take care of too. I don't carry anything heavier than I'm supposed to. My 2 year old wants to be carried but I can't. ? I'm actually doing and feeling pretty well. For some reason I don't have the baby blues this time. I had it the last two times. I'm also still bleeding but its tapering off. Oh and my abdominal binder is getting loose so I have to buy another one.

Нравится Ответить

The abdominal binder did wonders i wish i had it with my last csection

Нравится Ответить

For those gas bubbles- try using a heating pad on your belly. I don't know why, but it helps and it works. The nurse at the hospital told me to do it because I needed to pass gas before I got discharged.

Нравится Ответить

I was doing terrible until I got an abdominal binder and the c section panty. I'm 11 days pp now and I'm doing okay now. Just a random pain pill if I'm hurting. I'm not driving just yet and I don't lift anything heavier then the car seat.

Нравится Ответить

Oh yea ok still spotting and I can't wait to get on the pill. I'm ready for sex too. I lost complete interest during my pregnancy.

I'm 5w3d pp no pain relief for the past week and a half. Incision is fine weird discharge stopped. Belly above incision is still tender to touch. Still a bit slow getting out of bed and tailbone pain getting up from a chair. Upper back is my biggest complaint, but I am back to normal I guess. I cook and tidy up as much as Jude allows. I get to Drs appointments alone and I even went to the mall and got my nails done and a pedicure. Abdomen is still a bit puffy when I sit, but everyone keeps commenting on how flat it is lol. Hey I'll take it. We've been on a few long walks and I plan on doing that regularly. I'm just still so sleep deprived. I feel like I'm racing everyday against the clock to shower, take care of Jude, the animals, get dinner going, do dishes, and I supplement (cut back 50%) so that means dealing with bottles.

I had it in my shoulder too! I was in so much pain they had to give my Tylenol IB and oxy ? i didnt poop until i was home for three days even taking a stool softener. Finally back to normal now thank God

Нравится Ответить

Are you still taking gas pills or stool softener. May help with the gas pains. They told me to keep taking them when in left the hospital I think for a week.

Oh a gas bubble in your ribs...me too I felt like I had gas in my shoulder blade and the nurse said it's common..who would have thought you can get gas there.

Нравится Ответить

I'm 13 days out and I feel good incision wise, but I have this super bad pain that I thought was a gas bubble in my ribs that won't go away. I'm planning on asking my doctor about it my follow up on Wednesday. It makes things super difficult. But I stopped taking my pain meds. And my bleeding has been thinning out.

Lol I dont even remember what normal sex is like!!!

Oh ok....when you ladies are talking about weird discharge with blood, you're not referring to your incision, you're referring to vaginal discharge....thought you meant your cut. I understand now.

Нравится Ответить

May- I hear you! I was wanting my husband almost as soon as we got home ? I was never in the mood during my pregnancy, but I'm ready to make up for it now! Lol

Нравится Ответить

Im 29 days pp and im STILL wearing pads and have weird discharge. It started bloody, then turned orange, now its like a yellow. Im assuming its just the blood thinning out and going away?? I dunno. But i wanna have sex soon!!!

I'm 11 days post and I'm feeling pretty good. I walked a lot at the hospital and I do a lot of walking around the house. Can't walk outside around my neighborhood yet because my driveway is realllllly steep. I wouldn't be able to make it up the driveway. I tried to do too much the first week though and I felt more pain than when I was in the hospital. So this week I've been taking it easier and I'm feeling better each day. I'm just stubborn and don't like to ask for help

Нравится Ответить

I'm 7 days. Feeling really good actually. No more Advil either. I get my staples out today so that doesn't seem fun. I'm not doing much through besides home stuff. Don't want to even attempt to push myself and then set myself back or hurt myself.

Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post c section for me and I'm feeling almost completely back to normal. I do get lightheaded and dizzy quite a bit now, but I am pretty sure it is due to me losing so much blood during surgery (I hemorraged and lost over 2 liters of blood). My doctor told me I need to take iron supplements for the next 2 months because of it. Other than that the only time I hurt is if I push myself too hard or do too much walking. I refused to take any pain meds after day 2, but I did take Tylenol for my pain for about a week. Pain meds made me super constipated after my first c section so I didn't want to go through that kind of pain again lol. I still have some very light bleeding every now and then but it has almost stopped completely. I still have my steri strips over my incision since I am waiting for them to fall off but I am so tempted to peel them lol.

3.5weeks in and feeling ok (ish). I also had weird discharge with blood (only way to describe it was like your bloody show/mucus plug)....had this for about 2 weeks! Doctor said it was normal so I haven't thought any more of it! Bleeding stopped about 2 days ago. Above the scar up to my belly button is sore to touch and sensitive...told this was also normal! Stopped pain relief about 5days after section as they made me constipated! But I'm carrying on as I normally would now as I have a 2.5yr old to look after aswell so I don't have much choice!

Been back to normal life pretty much since first day home. Today my lo is 2 weeks old and I feel pretty much normal except a little sensitivity where the incision was. I only took ibuprofen for pain but haven't had much overall. I push myself as I like to be active and I am the one who cares for house n stuff. Just do what you can and cut yourself some slack if u get tired or just can't do it yet. Everyone heals differently and has different pain Tolerances. Good luck and congrats on ur new little one?

@retta- did you check with your doctor about weird discharge with blood? I have a different issue myself happening but yeah maybe just check to be sure.

Нравится Ответить

Had my csection on May 7

My lower stomach is sensitive to touch

I'm having weird discharge with blood but I've been doing most all the work because my husband just doesn't keep up with anything so I've definitely been pushing myself way to hard

This is my first csection and first baby so idk what to look out for

I'm 6 days since surgery. I usually recover well. This was my 4th section. I felt great coming home. However I experienced something unusual this time - hematoma, which I won't go into details so I don't scare anyone. It's not a common occurrence but anyhow something I'll have to journey through. My doctor has been supportive about it. I look pretty beaten up with bruises on my lower abdomen and a big belly with the dark line down the centre lol....I asked my hubby if he was disturbed by my new body-massive veiny breasts and odd looking tummy....the things we go through-all for the sake of love!

21pp... I'm feeling great. I have been feel great since day 2 in the hospital. As soon as I got home I started normal activity except sex. My bleeding has been off and on, but no major problems. The only thing I used for pain was Tylenol. I refused all other meds.
