We had not gone anywhere yet. We just bought it yesterday. I'm having trouble getting the straps tight enough, its like the shoulder pads are in the way. This is the "infant thingy" in the clek foonf so it's not part of the seat but she needs to be in it for two more pounds
You can take the shoulder pads off to get a better fit. And to help tighten the straps go behind the seat and pull on the straps from the back and then pull the strap in front to tighten.

I feel like you'd get a better fit if you removed the strap covers.

Definitely remove the strap covers and see if it will help.
