Bipolar 1. I have been in two psychiatric centers two different times because of suicide attempts. Started in 2014 it all showed up after I hit 24 I'm 26 now two babies and another on the way. I am heavy in meds but not while pregnant and it's killing me!!!! October can't come fast enough. The meds created a peace inside I have never felt. I would end up dead otherwise. Mine is so so so so so bad. Don't risk it go talk to a psychiatrist.

Bipolar and bipolar 2 are two very different things. Typically with just bipolar you have the manic/depressive episodes. With BP2 you can have manic episodes but the depression is much more prevalent than the mania. BP2 is considered more extreme because BP2 sufferers don't have as much of a "high" they can get from being manic and it's short lived, and they stay mostly depressive. I hope that makes sense to anyone who doesn't know the difference.

That being said, in 2011 I attempted suicide and was put in a psychiatric hospital. It was the lowest and scariest time of my life. I've had extensive cognitive and behavioral therapy since then. I struggle alot sometimes to not end up back in that cycle, but I can honestly say I live a happy and healthy lifestyle now.

I would strongly suggest looking into cognitive / behavioral therapy as well as natural forms of treatment.

If you want to vent or talk, feel free to pm me.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder when I was 14. I'm 26 now. Haven't taken any medication since I was 18. It's difficult sometimes but it's doable. My hubby can now recognize the warning signs before I cycle and we work through it together.

I don't have it, but my mom does, so I kind of understand the ups and downs as much as someone who hasn't personally experienced it can.

Yes I have bipolar depression. I haven't taken medications for mine since I was 16 or so, I am now 22. I try and cope on my own which can be tough sometimes.
