Post-partum Shivering/Chills
My daughter is 6 days old, and the last 2 days I've had a few bouts of shivering/chills. Is this normal? I know it can be a sign of mastitis, but breastfeeding is mostly comfortable and I've heard nightmare stories of the pain that accompanies mastitis.

I alternated between hot flashes/sweats and chills did a couple weeks post partum. My doctor told me as long as I didn’t have a fever it was just the hormones leaving my body.

The first few nights Home I got chills and also night sweats. After that it just turned to night sweats which I still have slightly.

I have a fever unfortunately. I'm going to call the doctor first thing tomorrow, but I was really hoping chills/shaking were normal ?

I've had a 102F fever since yesterday. I did have a plugged duct, but it wasn't too painful. But I've had mastitis before and this feels exactly the same, so I'm treating it as such. Hope you feel better soon!

@Little_lamb, sorry you're dealing with this, too! What have you done to treat mastitis in the past? What I've read basically says hydrate, rest and feed baby as much as possible.

It could but I had sweats after I had my last son. Our bodies are still trying to regulate temp.
Do your boobs hurt?
