Dryer sheets I've already stocked up on Free & Clear laundry detergent to wash all of baby's clothes and bedding in, but…

It was a while ago, but I read that you're not supposed to use dryer sheets or fabric softener with baby things because it affects the flame retardant properties.

I think you can use vinegar to soften during the rinse cycle. I never used anything with my first. Clothes were still soft, but might have extra static with fleece.

I haven't used dryer sheets for several years. I determined they were a waste of money. If you don't over dry your clothes you won't have static cling. I was guilty of restarting the dryer to release the fake wrinkles cause I didn't want to fold. Anyway, I did read that a dryer sheet messes with the flame retardant on infant clothes. Don't know how accurate that is but not a risk I would take. You can use vinegar in the wash if you want your clothes softer. It's also good for helping breakup hardware deposits on your clothes and washer if you have hard water. It's super cheap and your clothes won't smell like vinegar I promise.

I never used dryer sheets with my DD's clothes.

I hate dryer sheets so I never buy them. I use dryer balls, but only to decrease drying time.

I am curious about the vinegar if you ladies would share how you use it?

Agree with pp ... no fabric softener with any baby or children's sleep wear as they are flame retardent and it messes with that.

I thought they had to take the flame retardant stuff out of PJs because they were linked it to cancer? Hmmm can't win haha

I use wool drier balls instead of drier sheets. They work great!

I use a ball of aluminum foil

& it seriously works for static without the chemical issues -

I use tennis balls, all free and clear dryer sheets or aluminum foil balls :) they all work great and are pretty cheap!
