Red Raspberry Leaf Tea
Is anyone drinking red raspberry leaf tea with this pregnancy or had with a prior one? If so, have you seen any benefits? My MIL suggested that I drink it because her MIL had given the same advice when she was pregnant with my husband. She had a very easy pregnancy and short labor and attributes it to the tea. I've already been given the go-ahead from my doctor, but I wanted to see if any of you ladies are giving it a try!

I did it in the last few weeks with my first. Didn't do anything for me. But I only drank it for a couple weeks. Honestly though I don't think it would've mattered for me.lol I did back labour for 28 hours because my daughter was sunny side up and her fat head was too big to drop fully and put enough pressure on my cervix so I never progressed forcing a section. So even if I drank it the entire pregnancy I don't think it would've changed the outcome

I did with my son. I ended up being induced, so I don't know if it ended up doing anything for me.

I swear by that stuff. My midwife told me to drink 5-8 cups a day in my 3rd trimester.
My first labor was about 17hrs total, with about 10 of then being intense. At the end my contractions just stopped. They said my uterus got too tired. I never felt like pushing, but I pushed for 3 hours and wouldn't let them give me the pitocin IV (I'm stubborn). It was no fun, but he got out eventually.
My second (with the tea), was an induction. I'd say it was about 7 hours from the contractions to when she was born, but I only minded it for 3 hours. She was born in 3 pushes and came out so fast she got bruises :-O the midwife didn't make it in time! I didn't even need a shot of pitocin after because the midwife said my uterus just snapped back. I swear it was the tea! That and it being my second ;)
It also really helped with the cramping after she was born. It worked better than the ibuprofen. I might take some to the hospital this time haha.

I did. And it was wonderful for me!! I did during the mid to end of 2nd trimester and I will for this one too!! I had no pregnancy problems and my labor was super fast!! I drank it hot and made a pitcher of it to drink throughout the day!! I drank around 3-5 glasses a day usually! I was in a car accident which cause me to have contractions and go into labor at 36 weeks. But I never felt any contractions until they had to break my water and then it was 10 mins and 2 pushes all natural!! I think it helped with the actual labor and I drank it a few weeks after to help with post pardon!!

I have been told not to by my midwife but my second and third labours were under an hour from start to holding baby. First was 5 hours but I got an epidural so it probably would of been fast if I hadn't.

I drank it the last 6 weeks of my previous pregnancy and it was very beneficial for me! My contractions were doing all the work for me and I didn't even have to push my son out :)

I didn't with my first 2 and those labors were 15 and 23 hours long, fist I pushed for 27 mins, second I pushes for 5. With my third I drank it starting at 35 weeks and drank 5-8 cups a day, and my labor was 4 hours start to finish with one push. I also uses evening primrose oil everyday starting at 36 weeks. So for me it works wonders.

Thank you all for sharing your experiences! It seems like it's definitely worth trying to me - but that's also because I love tea :)
It sounds like most of you waited until the 3rd trimester to begin drinking RRLT. Did anyone start in the first trimester? I'm 12w2d and was planning to start this week with one cup of hot tea per day.

I think when I researched it they recommended not until mid 2nd trimester I would research more before you start it just in case

I drank it with my son. I would say my labor moved quickly. Water broke at 7am had him by 5pm. Contractions weren't terrible. He was just a fat baby lol and his head was huge so I pushed for 3 hours otherwise everything else went great! Only 2 stitches

I drank it almost every night once I hit 34 weeks last time around. I ended up having a pretty easy short labor/birth at 38w2days . I don't know if the tea helped though. My mom had easy labors and births too.
