Scared to nurse.

Davis has 7 teeth now and he's bitten me a couple of times so hard that I cried and now I'm so nervous to nurse him... I get a bit of anxiety every time.. especially because he latches like a hungry alligator.

Hahaha yes @mom2012.. I actually compare everything to the pain of labour now.. "does it hurt? Yes.. but no as much as labour so you're okay"

My baby girl has a ton of teeth and bites at least once per day. I've noticed she's less likely to bite when there's lots of milk but.if she's just nursing for comfort rather than nutrition it's more likely. I try to distract her until the breast is full, like giving her food or switching out her toys, but sometimes I can't distract her.

And yes, it hurts, but the I think about how much more my contractions hurt and press on.

I'm scared right now too. My daughter has her 2 bottom teeth already in and has 3 top teeth pushing through the gum now. She's been bitting me and pulling off a few times already. It hurts like hell! I can't imagine what it's going to feel like once her 3 teeth are all the way down. I'm thinking if she continues to bite real hard and pull off it might be time to try some pumping and a sippy cup. I don't want to be used as a teething toy anymore and up all night. I'm hoping she quits biting or she will finally try a sippy cup or bottle for the first time

Isla has 7 as well. I can tell #8 is close because she always bites while cutting a new tooth. She's good in between... but this kid grows teeth like she's getting paid ?

It's a phase and so glad my lo is past it now. I pulled off and said no then took away for about 30 minutes. It took about a month but he doesn't bite now. I sometimes offered a bottle instead, which he never liked bottles.

No teeth yet, but my first had this issue. If he bit or squeezed too gard, he got no boob. Didn't matter if he was done eating or not, if he bit he didn't get milk. He learned real quick not to bite (now, a year later... that's different. Boy is a little shark)

Oh gosh. Yes that shakey scared feeling is the worst. My daughter hasn't bit me in a while, but she has 6 teeth. when she does bite I gasp in pain, say no bite mommy and then I give her a cold teething toy for at least five minutes. Then try again.

Yes! It's totally a phase though and will pass. Just be consistent and pull him off when he bites and say no. He will get it eventually! You bite then no boob! My first had a crap load of teeth early and it sucked! This guy is just getting his first tooth now and it is glorious!

I brace myself for the bite every time he latches on! Really nervous for his top teeth to pop out!

I'm so scared! Gabe doesn't have any teeth yet but sometimes latches down hard and pulls so I can only imagine when he gets teeth. I'm thinking it might be due to teething pain

Baby girl has only 2 but she bites down hard when latching sometimes. Really only thing I've done is pull her off tell her no and cover myself. She'll cry a little and when I uncover myself and lwt her latch again she latches without biting. Hoping she'll learn.
