The fourth trimester ?!?
How's everyone surviving it ?! I'm exhausted and frustrated and overwhelmed lol
@baileyace I picked up the mam pacifiers and so far he will suck on them for maybe a minute but that's with me helping him keep it in his mouth lol as soon as I let go then he spits it right out ? I also bought a pack of the playtex ones where the nipple is straight and still no luck. My grandma suggested putting a little sugar on it but I'm hesitant to do that
I'll definitely try the mam ones ! I have tried a bunch of different kinds but not those
It's a struggle, let me tell you! I forgot how difficult my son was at this stage (which is comforting that it will soon become a distant memory). I can only sometimes get her to take a paci, which I need desperately. She wants to nurse all the time. I feel like a cow. I'm trying to enjoy these times even while sleep deprived, but I am also looking forward to when she is a little happier and more comfortable.
We've come a long way in these 6 weeks! (I'll be 6 weeks Tuesday) when we came home Liam would only sleep in my arms I was barley sleeping, eating or properly caring for myself. I felt so down and I didn't know how I was going to get though this. He woke every 2 hours and my husband went to work a week after I delivered so it was just me and baby during the day. Now entering week 6 things have gotten easier. Of course I'm still tired but Liam has started sleeping every 3-4 hours at night which is a little easier on me. He lets me put him down for naps. He will sleep in our bed or his rock n play or his swing. We haven't quite got him to sleep in the crib but I think once he gets bigger he will like it more. He only cries when he needs something. He isn't really a cry baby. I'm now able to clean the house, eat and shower while he naps or while he relaxes in his swing. I don't feel depressed like I did some days can be tuff but I'm much happier than the first 3 weeks ( FTM )
You guys give me so much hope !! Right now it's honestly a struggle. He has tummy issues so I'm starting to cut out dairy to see if it helps him. He very rarely sleeps unless it's on us and it's usually short periods of time, and he pretty much cries or whimpers all day :( it's been such a tough adjustment for me (FTM) and I have been struggling with his latch for breastfeeding so I'm really hoping it starts to get easier soon. I read this article called the 100 days of darkness and it describes a lot of the feelings I've been having, and it was nice to know that I'm not alone in feeling that way. To the PP, I really hope my little guy will eventually tolerate the swing or bouncer- he also refuses to take a pacifier but he loves to comfort suck.
My guy is 10.5 weeks and I've seen such a change in him!! He's so much happier in the last couple weeks. He will tolerate sitting in his swing or bouncer and he slept in his crib the last 3 nights and he's putting himself to sleep ? this guy would never let me put him down for weeks! It really gets better ladies! Just hang in there.
We're almost done the fourth . Eva is 2 1/2 months exactly today and it went by so fast. It's amazing how alerts she is and SO happy! Eva was a very high need baby she did NOT like being put down and was waking up during the night. I got very little sleep. Now it's gotten so much easier. I wore her a lot in a stretchy wrap and ergo and hubby and I took turns during the night. Our house was messy 70% of the time but I was okay with it. As a FTM im happy I pulled through and I believe we did what was best for our family she's growing so fast !!
How about you ?
Edit * I wanted to say that eva is still pretty high need as she wants to be held a lot still. She also comfort sucks all through the night sometimes. So while it is easier its still not easy if that makes sense lol
Oh darn! I was hoping he would take it for you. Our little one is so much happier since we found one he likes. I hope you find one he likes soon.
