Group B Strep Positive Found out today that I am GBS positive.. Was really hoping it would be…

I tested negative with my last pregnancy but I was actually positive which they didn't know until after I had my son but I ended up getting an antibiotic during labor because I spiked a fever so my son didn't end up with any complications. I'm getting tested next week but I already told my Dr that regardless of what the test says I'm opting to get the antibiotic just to be on the safe side.

Ah that's scary ! I'm glad everything was okay. I guess it's pretty common and I shouldn't be worried. Thanks for sharing your experience !

I am positive as well. First pregnancy so no experience to share. I'm allergic to penicillin so we also did a sensitivity test and luckily its sensitive to everything so they have another antibiotic for me to take. He just said they will start it when I get there as it was low level thankfully.

Tested positive with both pregnancies, 1st birth went really smooth and I haven't had this baby yet but I am hoping for a similar birthing experience.

Tested positive last time and this time... The IV isn't bad.

I just had my baby the 14th and I was supposed to get my strep b that day but my water decided to break. I had the test done as I was in labor but had antibiotics as a precaution. Turns out the next day of having her I was positive when the test came back in. I had to stay an extra day but she's perfectly healthy even for being a month early (:

I just tested positive...kind of disappointed but it doesn't seem to be a big deal.

Just found out I'm gbs+ positive too but doctor didn't seem concerned nor am I worried. Hard to explain to hubby tho cause he don't understand how it doesn't harm me but can harm baby.

I was positive . I was really bummed but my labour was 4 hours and to be honest I didnt even notice the Iv and me abd baby had no side effects :)

I was positive but ended up delivering baby in my truck so I didn't get any antibiotics and everything turned out perfectly!!
