Babies turning head down
When does it usually happen by? I'm 31 weeks and baby is still bum down.. He's crowding my lungs and it's uncomfortable lol.. Hopefully he gets the memo soon.
My doctor and I just had this conversation because I was telling her about my hospital tour I had just gone to and how I love their new procedure called rock and roll. It's where the nurses encourage you to rock and roll in a rocking chair, a ball, on all 4's, on your side, squatting, etc...She said that this helps babies to rock into position, even if they are breeched they will turn, and they will come down the birth canal faster too. That they have had much success with it over the years, shorter labors, less pain for mothers, less epicures, less c sections, etc. She said she tells those nurses to "make sure they are rocking and rolling my babies" when they call her. Lol
I asked what to do to try flip him.and she just said on hands and knees with bum in air 15 min twice a day. So have forearms flat on ground if that makes sense. I remember with my first I just got told to crawl around on my hands and knees lol so I washed the floors and did all the skirtings on my hands and knees and that worked . This was further along tho I think like 35 weeks.
Our last appointment one of our midwives said they like to see baby "commit to a position" around 34 weeks, and at today's appointment our other midwife said there's still enough time, space, and fluid for babe to move around so she's not concerned yet (almost 33 weeks). However, she said to encourage babe to get into an ideal position I should look up "spinning baby" (maybe check YouTube? She said there's a website all about it), and that lying on the couch with a pillow under your hips so your pelvis is lifted for about 20 minutes, followed by doing some lounges and squatting exercises would be helpful. I'll research all of this tomorrow and give it a go, but it is a relief to know there's still time and things that can be done to help.
I had midwife today and since he's still breech she discussed what will happen. No mention of trying to turn him which I'm think wth lucky it's my third and I know I can try things but it's like she was just so OK with it being a c section . me on the other hand couldn't think of anything worse. Fingers crossed he will flip. No trouble with my last two so hoping the same this time.it's nerve racking thinking about it.
I'm 33 weeks and still breech as of my appointment earlier today. My doctor says usually babies are where they're going to stay at 34 weeks. She scheduled an ultrasound for 35 weeks and said if he hasn't flipped we will prepare for c section, but that he can always flip up until the last minute and will do a quick last minute scan right before c section.
My first two were both breech for quit some time. My first flipped last minute and with my second I looked up exercises to do at home that would encourage him to flip, and he was head down at 36 weeks. Dr confirmed this one is head down at 31 weeks, but I'm terrified he will flip back. Look up the exercises to do, they helped relieve my back pain too.
They can flip all the way up until labor begins. My 3rd baby was breech up until 38 weeks, I had the Dr manually flip him for me. Dr said his butt was so engaged into my pelvis, he couldn't have turned if he wanted to. I think you still have time, plus there are things you can do to try and get the baby to flip :)
Why did the Baby Bump app close down?
I can't stand to see a baby on the bare couch its nasty, put a blanket down 1st!!
