Painful AF? Is it normal?
Hey ladies, was chatting with my friend about our AF's and I was saying how I always have really bad cramps for at least the first day, to the point of not wanting to move at all, which is also usually accompanied with some clotting. She said this may not be normal and may indicate something bad. Do any of you girls have any insight into this? Thanks !!

Every period is different, I don't have much pain in my period but my sister had horrible cramps and headaches, just like our mom. I don't think it's bad but you can always ask your doctor at your next annual

Could be a sign of endometriosis. I have some really painful periods here and there to the point I get nauseous with the cramps.

I've looked up endometriosis and it says that the pain is pretty severe and generally lasts the whole duration of your period. There's a ton of other symptoms too like pain during sex, pms symptoms in between periods.. I don't really have any of that. My cramps are bad but only lasts the first day of my period. Have you asked your doctor about the pain and nausea during your period?

From what you are saying, it's not endometriosis. I have a couple of friends who have it and it doesn't sound like what you. I know girls who would be vomiting on the first day of their period. We are all different and pms is not experienced by all. Talk to your doctor and she/he can see if it's normal or not

I sometimes get pretty debilitating cramps too. I use a heating pad and take otc meds
