My dad can't pronounce my son's name. It's Alexander. In the end i told him to call him alex because i was so sick of him butchering it every time. I mean seriously how hard is Alexander?

My whole family is German and do not speak English. As much as they try they just can't pronounce Scarlett. Didn't even think of that when we were picking a name. Oh well :)

OHs family is English and most of them end up calling her Charlotte! ?

Yes. I don't care if they can't pronounce it. At the end of the day they are gonna give my child a nickname instead of calling them by their first name. Lol

Yes. My first is Joshua. That one caught on really quick but my uncle still calls him Jafra -_- (hispanics) My daughter is Charity and thats even worse. My mother got it right and calls her princess or Cherry. Some other say ChErity. You can't win with people but they get used to it or use a nickname.

If I loved the name then yeah absolutely. I definitely wouldn't pick a name I couldn't pronounce though.

My husband's family only speak Spanish and they couldn't pronounce a few of our first choice names, so we found one that both families could pronounce. I thought it was important that my daughter's name be pronounced correctly and clearly in both languages.

I'd say go with the name you love, my friend is Mexican and her family also has strong accents (they don't know much english) her son is named Ethan also. They will adapt by either calling him a nickname or just do their best pronouncing it. I wouldn't worry too much mama :) good luck!
