Does this look safe???My baby hates sleeping on his back or being swaddled..

He's adorable! I would move all the blankets though and dress him in warmer clothes if he doesn't like swaddling.

My lo sleeps like this often. I actually rotate her as I did with all my babies, so she would be comfortable. As long as you're close and FEEL with your mothers intuition that he's safe, I see absolutely nothing wrong with trying other positions than just "back to sleep".

But then again, I'm old school.

Is he asleep? Is he content? Then it's fine. My dd only liked sleeping on her tummy. The few nights I tried to keep her on her back, none of us got sleep. Do what works. :)

Side sleeping looks fine, but the blanket that's half under his head should be moved completely out of the way. And make sure the sheet is tightly fitted to the bed. My son has always preferred side or belly sleeping too.

beautiful baby! dont worry i freaked out when mine kept turning on his side... then it was his belly, couldnt get him not to flip everytime... hes fine and comfy!

He looks perfect. The nurses at my hospital actually put my daughter on her side when I had her. An some docs recommend it.

Initially I used to freak out and try to roll him on his back. He woke up once and cried for nearly an hour. I stopped that day...lol!!! He still sleeps on his tummy :)

This is how my baby sleeps too. Sometimes with her hands like that, sometimes not.

My 5 year old just looked over my shoulder and said "that's a cute baby". Then went merrily on his way :-)

My dd sleeps on her side but she just started doing it when she learned to roll over. I think it's fine as long as his face isn't buried in something. Very cute!
