Can I start a new round right after a bfn?
I’ve just completed my first ivf cycle that ended with one embryo and a BFN, to my devastation. I want to bounce right back in the boat and try again. Is there any reason I can’t start pretty much right away? I’m seeing my doctor on the 12th of Jan, but I don’t want to be told I have to wait a month or whatever to start a new round. I can’t wait ... I’m sure you ladies know the feeling ?
I wish I had that insurance problem ? I’m in the UK, and you don’t get fertility cover here. I pay out of pocket. When a cycle fails, it hurts emotionally, physically, and financially!
It really depends on your doctor and how fast your financial coordinator works.
My doctor told that if I produced less than 6 eggs this cycle - we would straight up start the second cycle right away.
For my doctor and coordinator it took less than 3 days to get everything in order with insurance and mail-in pharmacy. I started stims on CD4.
It can also be harder let’s say if you start period on Friday - you have weekend - and insurance companies are slow over the weekend.
Well I was on progesterone shots up to two days ago. Don’t know when my period will start. Hopefully I can start a new round in January. From what you ladies say, it can go either way. There’s so much waiting in this ivf thing ...
I’m 39 too, so I hope I can start right after this bleed. Thank you for the tip, and I’m sorry you went through this twice already ?
After 2 rounds of disappointment I can definitely wait for the 3rd round.
Some clinics differ. I think most clinics wait til your have your bleed from your failed cycle plus and normal cycle to start again. My clinic however due to my age, 39, will start me straight away after a failed cycle ie get the failed bleed done and start again on CD 21.
Good luck to you.
I know. We are very lucky - but it’s not for free. We pay $1200 monthly premium. But we did it so for my birth I was billed $100 and for my IVF so far I paid $118.50.
We are switching to different insurance starting Jan 1st. We just don’t get sick to keep the expensive one :) ?
