Colicky baby?

This is my second and with my first we had some issues with gas but this ones been a bit different. She has to be held...mostly upright. If she is sleeping and you lay her down she immediately wakes up and it crying. She is super fidgety and is alway kicking her legs. Some nights she just cries for no reason. Is this colic? If so what works best. I've heard gerber soothe but I would like to know if they work before I buy them.

With my first she wouldn't stop crying for an hour no matter what I did. I hated doing it but I just had to let her cry for that one hour because otherwise I would go even crazier than I already was.

I wear her pretty much all day except for feeding cause I know if I set her down she will wake and cry. Don't know if it's colic or just a needy baby! Ha

If its colic, put a tiny bit of sugar on ur tongue and let her suck it off. Older women in my family swear by it and had my aunt do it when her son had colic. The next day he was fine

The upright position makes me wonder if she has acid reflux or something else digestive going on? Not wishing that on you, but the kicking legs could also be a hint at gastrointestinal pains. Good luck!

I was wondering about the same thing. My baby has been really cranky especially at night. She won't nurse and will scream for a long time until her body gets flushed and voice all hoarse. Nothing seems to work and she struggles to latch to anything, boob, paci or bottle. I already stopped drinking dairy in case she is sensitive to it. It's so hard to see them cry and not be able to console them. I have to hand her off to my husband a lot since I feel so bad that I can't soothe her.

We have her 2 week wellness check on Tuesday so hopefully we'll get some answers. Then it's speech therapy for her lip tie.

I'm guessing there might be some GERD going on. Our first son had it as well as a milk-protein sensitivity. It can be so stressful! Gripe water in the bottle or after is a big help. I'd ask your pediatrician about GERD. Our LO ended up on Prilosec for 10 months.

Yeah I just talked to a cousin that had a baby and she seems to have some of the same symptoms and they gave her medicine for acid reflux and she is doing way better. My girl doesn't spit up that often though?

Try the gripe water after feedings to start. It made a big difference with my lil guy

We've tried mylicon drops cause I thought it could be gas. Those didn't help at all...is gripe water for gas or specifically for colic?

My son had silent reflux. He didn't spit up much but I could hear it in his throat. Poor bubs. Gripe water helps with all tummy issues - gas, discomfort, hiccups, etc

I use the rule of 3s. A baby is colic if they cry for at least 3 hours a day for at least 3 days out of the week for 3 weeks. Mine third child was colic. Cried from 7p to midnight every night until around 12 weeks! Nothing ever helped, so I just retried and cried and did what I could to keep my sanity. I would suggest swaddling, gentle rocking and patting, white noise, and extra burping especially during day time feeds. Good luck

My lo is on Gerber Soothe for the last week. So far I haven't noticed an improvement . Pediatrician said to try it for two weeks and if no results, she will give her Zantac. My lo has reflux so bad it comes out her nose sometimes. And you can hear her poor belly rumbling like crazy. It's heartbreaking to see her in such discomfort. Gripe water helps, but doesn't last long.

I'd talk to dr before spending $27 on a 5 ml bottle of Gerber Soothe.

Good luck Momma. I hope all our lo's find relief soon

Same problems here. Gripe water is my new best friend. It works wonders.

My first daughter was extremely colic and the only thing I found that gave her some relief was gripe water.

The last two nights have been rough. I'm thinking my babe might be colicky too. I think she may have reflux too. At least once a day she completely empties her stomach usually all over me.
