What about Lena?? Still pronounced the same as Lana.

my hubby was in class one day in HS and said, loudly, to the girl next to him "Hey Lana, your name backwards is Anal."...needless to say he was sent to the principles office!

I've also never thought about the backwards thing. Who does that? I've never tried to figure out what a name would be backwards. That's silly.

I love Lana and the backwards thing never crossed my mind or seems to be a problem for anyone with that name. I've never heard anyone call the singer Anal Del Ray.

I never thought of it spelled backwards but I actually like the spelling Lanna better if you are planning to pronounce it "lah na". I feel like Lana might be mis-pronounced as "lay na" often as that's how I was saying it in my head. I LOVE either pronunciation though.

Maybe Lanna?? We just asked our 21 month old what the babies name should be if it's a girl and he mumbled Brynn which we never even mentions but we kind of like that now too! Haha

Lana does spell Anal backwards which is why I wouldn't ever consider it. Although Lana itself is a very pretty name. And just remember, kids can be cruel; so your daughter might get a bit of name-calling once people realise.
